    Spare is nice to have a sensor in*, but if you have to try to reprogram them doing a 5 tire rotation (i.e. your truck only accepts 4 sensors) then I'd say it's not worth it.


    *when you are driving 8 hrs home on a tire with 9 plugs in the sidewall and some other small leaks. It's nice to know when you need to pull over and add more air.

    I run a 5 tire rotation and dont think about TPMS. I check the tires and pressures pretty frequently.

    Do you have a 5th sensor even? I know some trucks allow 4 or 5 and others only allow 4 in the TPMS ECU.

    I doubt it, I've never bought a sensor, got rid of my steely spare long ago. my spare for my spare now, is a trd offroad alloy that I know does not have one.

    My TPMS light is pretty much always on. Sometimes I can go for miles before it starts blinking, but it's always there, and has been since I switched to the MTs.

    you can reset it. there is a little button next to hood release, or in glove box, I forget. check / set all pressures where you want them, then reset it, will learn the new range to be in.

    I tried that holding the little button down and turning the ignition I think. Something I read on here, but it didn't work for me. Maybe I was doing it wrong. :notsure:
