South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

I just hate them. It’s the only part of my suspension I regret buying. They don’t get aligned properly ever and the they squeak like all hell, and there’s no zerks on the bushings to grease them so you have to take them off to grease. Stupid fucking design.

 

Drill and tap them then go to your local autoparts or farm equipment store and buy 90* zerks bushing lubing problem solved. I can't fix the alignment tech issue as that's what it is these days toe and go.

That's the old design ball joint. For a cool $80 you can upgrade. I haven't had a problem with squeaking, old or new design. If I ever replace them I'll probably go with JBA offroad. No uniballs for me, never heard a quiet one.

They are probably squeaking due to to much grease. That was the case with my TC's.

@JWL runs them as well and last I heard, he was pretty happy with them.

Yeah, what @Sandman614 said. I got mine in Feb of this year and they have zerks to put the grease in. Toyota does it for free for me along with my routine oil change/tire rotate.

 

Definitely not over greased seeing as they’ve been on almost 2 years and never been regreased

 

But are they actually and are they using the grease that SPC specifies..?

 

Wellnthen I got screwed with the old design haha. Why not have that design from the start, stupid SPC

 

I dunno about that for sure. I gave them the sheet that came with the arms and they read it, said okay, and took it from there. They have always treated me well there, so I'm pretty comfortable with it.

 

Why don't all Tacomas come with greasable driveshafts..?

 

I upgraded by SPC balls some time ago, so i could add lube as needed

 

They are not using the specified grease, they use one grease for everything. #alldealerssuck

 

gotta keep the balls lubed!

Eh depends on who you ask. But as far as getting your balls lubed, nah doesn't matter as long as you're getting it.
