Oh ok . Well if he wants to keep the price down I'd look in to the 5100 Bilstein kit for it

What is this $80 upgrade? Is it the method that @ovrlndkull said about tapping them yourself?

Did not know that, thank you!

Edit: My balljoint has the grease zerk, my bushings don't, which is the issue

Ya, that's why I want to swap. I'm not in a huge rush so I'm looking to see if any used deals on TCs come up. I might get the Built Right from down in San Diego, a local member here just got them. I'm not wheeling enough to really warrant a brand new set of anything, but the squeaking is driving me absolutely insane.

My bushings wore out and never had any squeaking. Did you put enough grease in them when installed?

I imagine I did. I followed the instructions well enough. I guess it could be my balls. I may have over-greased them the last time. I'll make @eccracer104 look at them whenever I see him and have him diagnose my balls

I spent $1600 for OME with all the goodies including lean spacers, rock guards. Got TC uppers too.

Personally I'd go JBA. Their balljoint is a std GM flange so you could take a spare to get you home. But they created a high angle balljoint. I think that for a mostly st. driven truck balljoint is the way to go. Uniballs and heim joints have their place just don't think you'll get the longevity from a uniball over the balljoint. Plus the JBAs are a little cheaper than the TC. Or you could just do what I suggested and that would be like 50 bucks or so in a tap and parts to have greaseable bushings.

Thanks for the input. I think I just need to figure out if its the balls or bushings first that is causing the squeak. I can't really tell because I can't shake my truck and have a good look under the truck at the same time. I'd only go TC if I got a steal of a deal on them either used, or if my manager can get me a discount through Nicole. I don't really want to spend a lot more on my truck right now. I'd have to find someone to do the tapping of the bushings for me, I wouldn't trust myself to do it.

A good moly grease works for everything and if you call and talk to actual urethane bushing manufacturers they'll recc. that. Back when urethane really started coming onto the market in the 90s they wanted you to use a special grease similar to dielectric. That stuff didn't last long. I've used a good moly grease for decades on bushings and joints and have yet to see any real difference. I don't know what SPC recc. though.

Ah the great question to ask marketing and engineering, I am sure there is a funny argument to watch unfold there. There is also the fact that when cars had greaseable everything very few people kept up with the maint. correctly so parts failures were sooner and more often than with sealed. Also the greases they have now are light yrs above what was previously used.
