    Hey AR people...
I'm browsing around the PSA AR-15 rifle kits - the assembled uppers w/ the lower parts kit. I'm thinking about picking one up soon. Is there anything I need to stay away from or maybe a kit that is strongly suggested? Its my first AR build, and I think I want something mid length, 7.62/.223, and I'd prefer rails for attachments (I think).

    Edit:
    meant 5.56, not 7.62:frusty:

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
it looks like they've mostly stopped with the PTAC brand stuff. was definitely a little more lower end than their typical PSA stuff was.

That's the upper kit I bought that I still haven't bought a lower for.

I’ve heard better things out of the freedom stuff though. Maybe it’s in the middle of ptac and premium.

I'm an aero precision guy but most of the PSA stuff I've handled seems pretty decent for what it is. Mid length on a 16" barrel is a soft shooting gun you'll be pleased. If you want to go 18" or longer barrel definitely get a rifle length gas system.

I like aero stuff too. My 18” build I’m piecing together now has their receivers.

I've got a few cheap lowers I'm keeping bare picked them up as insurance. But all my builds are aero. I really like the M4E and M5E stuff love the way the rail attachment is integrated into the reciever, makes them a true full flated hg vs the ones attached to the barrel nut.

Yeah the only bad part about the enhanced receivers is having to use their hand guards. But they are nice.

I personally like their handgaurds so that's a good thing but it does limit your choices down to length only and the MI ones are pretty sweet as well.

Charlotte has those scooters now for a month or two. I think someone is going to die, they go fast and people just go as fast as they can  We have been doing a manlift investigation all week on a mixed use condo directly adjacent to the light rail, which has a large pedestrian sidewalk next to it. Its a dam scooter freeway. We nearly killed a few. not much room left after the manlift and cone zone. I about walked into a few several times as they were hauling ass down the sidewalk. They look fun though, for sure. They are a hit here. Have fun :fistbump:

Then get your fill. Lots of old German settlements around south-central TX.

Boerne and Fredricksburg heading NNW into the Hill Country.
And New Braunfels, Luling, and others east between there and Houston.
