Cool, I'll be heading that way then . That single car felt like me Monday night driving back in from VA . It looked like evacuation had already started on 26W. I got off 95 at like 10pm and it was bumper to bumper on the other side of the road . Then it was just me and a fuel truck running 26 into town. Also, in pretty sc had their entire police force between Florence and Charleston .I swear I counted 30 cop cars most of which had people stopped.

Keeping all of you guys in our thoughts and prayers. Hoping everyone comes out of this unscathed. If anyone needs help after (boots on the ground, delivery of items, etc) let us in Alabama know. Drove to Texas for Harvey, I'll sure as hell do my best to come to you guys for Florence.

It's amazing what those currents and streams will do. Can't remember the hurricane but it was maybe early 2000s. Really strong like this one and slated to hammer the NC/SC coast. The gulf stream got a hold of it and it made a huge curve N and back out to see eventually being a tropical depression and hitting the Med

Nope, we moved over to John's island off of main road back in April. Just down the road from the turnoff to Dan's place. We now have 10 chickens and a koi pond haha

if the outlook is continuing to come south and stall out over the area, i think we're heading to orlando and put our annual passes at universal to use.

Yes, It is amazing. But you have to remember that those areas are also sallower and have warmer top water as well that will cause it to intensify. This is one thing that happened when Hurricane Andrew hit South Fl with the gulf stream and Fl straights that was a cause in the Storms turn to the south in the the last few hours before land fall.

The warm water and temperature contrast along the edge of the Gulf Stream often increase the intensity of hurricanes along that frontal edge zone causing storms to travel westward and then either move in a northward direction and curve toward the eastern coast.

    Gulf Stream and its currents.....
