So when we were there, there was some big Ride To Town rally thing that AOAA put on going to Shomokin could of been like a tribute to that or something idk. Us southerners felt a little out of place everyone was starring at us and wondering what the hell accent they were hearing was. It was fun to look at their faces of wtf.

Ya bloom is a college town. Hands down it’s way bigger then Elysburg. Around the coal region Elysburg is prolly the biggest but some don’t consider it coal region since we all graduated high school, have all of our teeth, and don’t smoke meth....as you can tell driving through shamokin it’s not exactly a retirement area. Moving from that area when I was 18 was the best thing for me. I have family from Numidia to Bloom and go back once a year to hunt with friends and family, but I stay outta the coal region for the most part haha.

Haha ya they are a unique breed up there. I’m sure some inbreeding as well. Did you hear any locals with a coal region accent? You would think you were in a backwoods part of Brooklyn. Such a strange accent. It’s like a jersey, New York accent mixed with Italian and Irish decent. I’ve traveled all around the world and have yet to hear an accent like the coal region.

I'm going to sleep on this for a few days but I think a good option is going to be keeping the reg cab and picking up a used sedan. I was looking on Auto trader and I could get a little Corolla or forester and even with having two vehicles, still be out better than having a DC Tacoma.

Yeah I did asking where I could buy beer at a gas station. The guy was just how you described too missing teeth, disheveled, and probably barely got past the 8th grade. To me it's kinda like our Appalachia accent. My family decended from Appalachia and I still got some very far removed family up there and they are an extremely different breed and way to talk.

Classic coal region. Fun to visit but that’s about it.

DC tacomas are very expensive. If you take the exact same mileage optioned ect AC and DC the DC easily will be 5+K more. I think getting a small beater sedan for you would be a wise choice. Your wife already has one. I know ya'll aren't that tall but I had a midsized sedan and it gets crowded quick with that back seat. Might want to look into Accord, Camry that size.

Yep that’s why I love to travel out of state to hunt and fish. I end up in places that 99 percent of people would never go since it’s not a tourist destination. I hate tourist traps. Let me go to a place off the grid and explore and I’m good!

Oh yeah I hear ya, it'll be tight. But I feel like a dc Tacoma would be about the same. We are short, 5'7" and 5'4" so that's good. Also, it'll be used for a specific purpose and not necessarily every day.

Yep the Tacoma is actually not much if not a little tighter than my old Buick Century.

And I've had to keep it a secret whew glad that's over with.

When I lived in Wy we use to find just sides of the road that bordered Yellowstone sneak onto it and go backpacking and camping all over. One day we had a mountain like sit on her perch overlooking the valley we were in watching us. She was probably 500+ yds away we kept a very close eye. But she just sat there watching out of curiosity. Probably the first humans she has ever seen. When scientists tell us how animals act and stuff I laugh because they don't spend enough time in the woods just sitting and being quiet.

Lol! I just had to tell someone. We saw a family member at the hospital the other day and she was the only other person who knew.

I'm relying entirely on the shower to acquire as much of what we'll need as possible so it won't be a family secret much longer

Dude best thing at a shower is Walmart and target gift cards they pay for diapers and stuff like that. If your wife can breast feed as long as possible formula is expensive!!!!!!!!!!

PM me your address so that I can send you those splash guards and something for the kiddos!!!!:bananadance:

    Congrats!

May as well not fight it and be about that minivan life. I tried to fight it with my one kid...ended up getting a Sienna and I love the damn thing (wife tolerates it but would rather be in a T4R). So much room for activities!

Baby wipes and batteries...trust me. Diapers are fucking expensive and size changes all the time so best to buy those yourself so you don’t end up with a bunch of small ones that have been outgrown.

We are both fighting it. She loves her forester!

Oh yeah and returns are worth their weight in gold so I hear.

Ive accepted that we are expecting but it hasn't hit me yet that there will be two of them! So much going through my mind I have to stay off Google.

Yes batteries lots of batteries even those old antiquated C & D cell things. Kids crap like the little swings and stuff take those batts. Gift card FTMFW on the diapers thing. They sure do grow out of the sizes quick seems like every week it's a new size!
