I'm looking hard at the Front Runner and ARB touring steel rack. I'm not a fan of RTT on the 4Runner but rather see it on a trailer instead. Rago Fab makes crossbars but they're over price IMO for what they do and weight limit.

Haha I want it for summer! Or now. I just got a quote for a brand new one for $1800. We’ll see what happens. Probably won’t be able to find a used one for 3rd gen and my color but we’ll see! Might say fuck it and treat myself haha

It’s just a personal opinion I have. I wanted to have piece of mind knowing that I had a solid base. Plenty of people have run them no problem, as mentioned, I was just throwing my .02 in. No biggie.

Ha! I’m thinking tax return will go to a cap though. Should cover most, if not all of it. I think I most likely will go with the ARE overland series. It looks really nice with the quicksand and a touch of black in there. And then I think it’s a bit more reinforced than their standard series so I’ll be more comfortable keeping the RTT up there too.

I don't hate the Jeeps especially since the rubicons come with 44s and dual lockers. You can make them really good with essentially bolt on parts. It's just fun to rib about Jeeps. The biggest thing I don't like about them is it's a chrysler product. Oh and when I was looking for my tacoma the JKU Rubicon was on the short list just what I could afford reliability was a big factor and they were more ragged out than the tacomas.

There was a huge difference in quality between my 98 TJ and my dad's 06 LJ. LJ had sooo much extra plastic and just shoddy part assembly.

The LJ had an awesome wheel base though.

Oh the LJ was great when it was newer.. the longer wheelbase definitely made a difference. I tried so hard to get my dad to put a small 2" lift and some 32"ATs on it.. he wouldn't do it though.

Yeah that's jmy biggest gripe to jeep is once they get up there in age the reliability is kinda hit or miss and a lot of things start falling apart.

:rofl:Shut up scooter! Gotta pay off the holidays first. I’ve been thinking about one for a while now. I need to do some more research. With the 2 dogs and wanting to go on surf trips, I think it’d be a good purchase. I don’t wheel anymore anyways so this is perfect. Keeps things dry and more secure. There’s a surf spot that I’ve been wanting to go surf and take the dogs and with this I can lock them in the back with the windows popped and go surf and know they’ll be fine
