I got my Jamis tuned up not that long ago with the intention of riding and dropping some pounds, it just hasn't happened yet.

I'll let you know next time I plan on going out. This weekend is most likely a no go because of this weather.

This is unusual to have this much rain this time of year right? I feel like Forrest Gump... Sideways rain, and rain that seemed to come up from underneath...

I have two intentions with this, get fitter so I can keep up with the kids and give them a dad with energy and a long life. Second is reenlisting in the ANG and I need to meet minimums to be eligible.

The kids is my primary motivator. Better mental and physical health overall.

MTB trails will be nothing but mud for quite awhile. And mud is not good for components. :crapstorm:

Anyone know the best way to check and see if the state/federal parks are open during the government shut down (like a website). I want to go camping Tuesday but obviously won’t be able to if they’re shut down.

This is probably the single best source of park status. I know Congaree NP was open last year but no rangers and no support if lost or stranded etc.

I’m not planning to do anything gnarly, just want to get out and do something since this rain has ruined all the fun having. Pisgah is my top pick right now.

This much is unusual. Rain doesn’t usually pick up around the end of the year though but not this much for this long. Last time it was this bad was the flood 3 years ago.

But let me know if you do. All trails will likely be slop for the next few weeks to months if we don’t get a break from the rain.

Getting to start all over :)
Any pointers before I go check out these 4 runners tomorrow... other than the obvious.

My main point will be making them meet near a highway so I can get it at least to 60 mph.

Thought about it Sunday but depends on 1. The shutdown and 2. How effing crowded it’s probably going to be since there’s finally going to sunshine

    The shutdown?

I don't have any preference to where. I've cycled thru 4hi while driving. And cycled 4low, both lockers and the sway bar disco in the driveway.
Just wanted to get on a trail to cycle low while moving.

So nice out, prolly try to fish in Russell or Hartwell today and tomorrow. Get the keys tomorrow for the house. We closed last month but the owner wanted to rent it for a month till his house was done.

Monday starts the demo so I will be busy. Prolly post some before and after pics.

That rain sucked the last few weeks but it’s better then snow! Literally rains like that almost year round in pa. I saw they had the wettest summer on record this last year, crazy.
