Check out this rig my neighbor is finishing up. Full frame off resto new boss 302 motor, new interior, slick as shit. Its for the 17 yo grandson of his boss, nascar race team owner. I dont even know what year bronco it is. Sounds fantastic.

Soo-- Wifey is sick of our 2018 Subie Outback... she wants it GONE!

All the weird electronics, constant need for "firmware" updates, etc.

We had the Honda Odyssey for a decade or so before.

The Subie has been problematic. Wierd things like doors locking with 1/8 tank of gas left (key fob was in the car!). Car automatically engaging parking brake when stopped on a steep incline/driveway; then having to turn off the car, etc. Been to the dealer 6-8 times for the radio alone- they even replaced the head unit. Radio will "lock" off/on/loud- while on a blue tooth call. Even had the "pleather" portion of the leather seat bottom split- to the foam!

Does she have any of the fancy sight stuff on the subie? One of my buddies said his moms new subie is nothing but electronic gremlins.

YUP! That actually works. The other electronics are either programmed weird, or don't work correctly.

Dont get me started on that gawdawful anemic rubberband CVT "transmission", with paddle shifters...

We debated between the 4Runner and the Subie. Tried to save a buck or two. Now we are getting a 4Runner.

Yeahhhh, no way in hell I would ever give the keys to that thing to a 17 y/o.

Looks cool though, and I'm sure it's totally badass.

I'm bias but I'd suggest a GX 460...better all around than the T4R especially if it's for the wife unit.

Exactly! A CVT with "artificial" shift points.

Is that like a vegan tofu hot dog?? :dancingbacon:

Too many electronics. Wifey is so pissed, she does not even want a push button start.

Plus property tax to licence the vehicle in my area would likely be $1,100.00/year or so on the that.

I bought a new 1996/97 4Runner- and and we loved it!

I read the electronics in the 4 Runner may change in 2020, maybe the engine too. Looking for a 2018 or 2019 on a good deal.
