South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

Shit that’s crazy! How big of coyotes are they? I’ve never seen any much bigger than a 80-90 pound dog in person. But if I had 5 surrounding me I’d rightfully get right the fuck back in my truck too.

 

Nothing grows very big here in the south.
They said a couple were pretty sickly looking.
Skinny with some mange like looking fur.

The ones my buddy took pics of look about the size of a medium German Shepard.

 

Fuck that either way. Wild animals are definitely not something I want to fuck with regardless of size.

 

Skinny, sickly pack animals brave enough to approach an adult man. That’s not good. At least it wasn’t at a local school I guess.

 

This plant sits on a couple hundred acres.
Back in 2001 when I first moved to south carolina, they used to let us bow hunt the property.

 

Yotes are growing in numbers ...
Which concerns me.
Them’s more dangerous than what they replaced. I wish we still had common wild cougars around.

(I do believe there are limited numbers left in western NC, but they may be dying out soon- mainly due to lack of genetic diversity as they are pushed to increasingly remote & non-connected locations. I’ve talked to too many who have seen them, but will only admit it anonymously & “off the record.” It’s been a minor obsession of mine for years.)

Edit:
Cougars avoid humans, you can walk within feet of them or under them & never know it. They survivored by treating humans as something to hide from & avoid unless there are zero other options. They also hunt alone & can hide themselves.
Coyotes, however, hunt in packs & can be fairly aggressive & fearless in the presence of humans.

 

Used to be made in Stumphouse tunnel..

They moved production to their own curing rooms on campus in 1958.

 

Cool. I was told they still used the deeper parts as part of their labs, alongside their curing rooms.
