Insurance isn't covering a dime on our house because even though I refrigerator was leaking it's not covered and they said that all the leaks were from a generation of time my roof from the previous owners had fixed a leak in the roof with tub and tile clear silicone and put a shingle on top of that which obviously did not fix it

My house is mostly plumbed in cpvc...I went to change the whole house filter and ripped the whole fucking unit out pipes and all...gave me an excuse to install a triple filter system, but damn that shit breaks if you look at it wrong.

I've had numerous leaks I've had to fix now, thankfully we have a basement and it's easy access to 90% of the piping.

The new addition that was added onto our house around 2005 has Pex, and I have a leak at a 90* fitting I've been meaning to fix. Damn those crimpers are expensive though...may just get a Sharkbite fitting instead.

I'm just gonna do a sharkbit fitting on it...it's only $10.

I think the only copper we have is for the two bathtubs and showers. They are getting remodeled soon anyway, so I'll do PEX on those.

I was talking to a contractor and since it's pex you can bend it and they make 90 degree curvature pieces . Now you would need the 90-degree pieces that would go into the wall from your appliance but the rest of the house you can actually bend and mold the text through the walls and you can have one seamless peace throughout

Insurance is paying for the floor and re doing the crawl space.

A the same time- my kitchen has a "cook top" that is nearly dead. The rough in for the granite is much larger than any other cooktop made now. SO to replace the cook top, I need new granite counters. The builder put down the granite, then built adjacent cabinets around it. I would have to destroy those cabinets- just to replace the granite.

    Therefore-- :bananadead:

Contractor is. House was built with "Durapex" from China. every other home in our neighborhood is having issues/re-piping. I am told that company is out of business. Replacing with Pex made in USA.

The plumber is very cool- and they have been diligent with cleaning everything. BUT- I have drywall dust on EVERYTHING in the house.

I'd be hoping for an electrical fire if that were my house. I hate dealing with drywall even for small patches.

With that being said, the drywall work in our house is complete shit...whoever did the remodel in the early 2000's took shortcuts everywhere they could. You can see almost every seam and there are dozens of screw heads that are popping out.

on a side note, my kitchen sink drain is leaking, and so are the connections from the disposal and the p-trap...I'm going to have to re-plum from the sink all the way to the main drain. I may just call a plumber to take care of it, ain't no body got time fo dat.

You got a need to run more speaker wires or ethernet cables or anything? Now looks like a good time

Hmmm... Had not thought of ethernet.

Was considering in-ceiling speakers, to get rid of the late 90s era analog Bose system, (although, still nothing wrong with it.)

    Damn skippy.

Our house was built in 1948 - by hand apparently because nothing is fucking straight or level. It was remodeled 15ish or so years ago, so now everything is starting to show its age and needing to be replaced. Can't tell you how much time and money I spend on maintenance, it's ridiculous.

Next house we are going to custom build.
