That actually makes a bit of sense.

Though, I think of those as weird cartoony versions of “normal” truck bodies with wheels way outside, rather than butt-dragging normal trucks.


Maybe because I’m going about it rationally & thinking “package” over certain features.

It looks like a lift kit installed while drunk.

Though, cool individual features put together without thought to package produces vehicles like the Ford Edsel:

Every features was popular trends, but the total looked really odd & awkward. Yet, as they were so wrapped up in the details, the Ford folks missed the “WTF?” overall look.

 

Yeah the center wheel button idea on the Edsel did not age well. At all.

But it did pre-sage the steering wheel controls of today. At the time, most controls were on the dash or floor. That was pre-all purpose stalks too.

They were a bit ahead of their time.

 

Could it be descended from the lowrider’s hydraulics rising the front ends & driving that way?
