My guess is either bolt or nail thats been bent over. And like others have stated, over inflation causes that wear pattern not rotation/alignment. If it was alignment, the wear would be on one side of the tire and the treads may be unevenly worn on one side. Besides that, bum deal but at least it was close to the time to replace the tires.

I feel your pain! Except I had to buy a tire that didn't need replacing. Well except for the giant bolt thru it.

AT or MT tire? Load ratings?

I lean a bit higher for a MT tire vrs an AT due to the increased tread depth. Heaver load ratings also will get a higher squirt of PSI. I run my E rated MTs at 42-45 PSI, if you are running C or D rated AT's, I'd lean around the 34-38 PSI range. Stock should be around 32 PSI if my memory serves me correctly.

Edit: To add, lower PSI to get a softer ride but do not go lower than 32 PSI unless you are moving slow offroad, just as a precautionary measure.

I ninja edited my post but I'll reiterate here. You would be fine to run your tires at the stock recommendations of 32 PSI. It'll give you a smoother ride. You could adjust your PSI depending on if you are going to be hauling heavy loads in your bed but even then, I wouldn't go up more than 10 PSI over what you normally run. There is a formula for weight to PSI but it takes a lot into consideration. DT will more than likely squirt your tires to 32-35 psi. I had to go back behind them and boost mine up to where I typically keep them as I stated in my post above. If I were you, I would keep mine in the ballpark of 34-37ish.

I ran mine at that and when I took them off, I could tell I had been running them too inflated.
