I’ve read up on them a lot... pretty sure this isn’t gonna do anything. Zero air movement down there on the factory cooler. Strange design

Gonna have to. I knew this wouldn’t work. Just messing around outside lol. Trans temp is in the 200’s pulling my boat on hot days... and SC has A LOT of hot days. The big ass t-top on my boat is a lot of drag. Engine runs around 200 pulling my boat on the highway too. Guess I’ll just steal the wife’s car for now until I get the aftermarket cooler

yeah, get you a big ass cooler and a proper electric fan...high temps kill transmissions.

I have the thermostat pinned on my trans (3rd gen design), keeps the temps down to 150-165 on the hottest days :D

I’ve been looking at colder thermostats, trans coolers, and electric fans... these trucks aren’t the best for tow rigs. Wife’s sequoia with 5.7 does just fine and pulled my boat from SC to Lake Erie with no problems besides being very thirsty. Averaged 9mpg

If we get a camper, it will be pulled by our GX...I'm sure it will be in single digit MPG's...luckily Myrtle Beach isn't that far away from us.

It’s not the weight that gets you... it’s the aerodynamics lol. Like towing a house

I've got a write up for a bigger cooler on my truck and saw some significant temp drops.
This all this. Plus the benefit of getting rid of that annoying fan noise and an increase in hp.

Now you’ve got me looking at the grand designs. The XLS 23BHE or 21BHE looks to be about perfect...seems it could almost be a 4 season camper with the amount of insulation they have...same price point as the Winnebago’s I’ve been eyeing.

So we went in thinking the 22RBE was the one. Salesman showed us the comparable 22MLE, we went back and forth and back and forth. The 22MLE won us over. As much as I’d hate to admit it, our needs are changing and we may consider something else at some point. Maybe not anytime soon, maybe soon. We don’t know. The GDs are worth the money. Don’t go cheap when looking for a camper. They are four season campers. Just don’t live in Michigan or some other snow land.

well, we’ve got two kids, so whatever we get will need bunks at a minimum. Also, towing with our GX, so would like to keep it under 5k dry. Mostly will be going to the beach only, doubtful it will go into the mountains but maybe once a year.

if it serves us well for 5-6yrs it will be money well spent, hopefully by that time I’ll have a full size and can upgrade to something a bit bigger as the kids grow up.

it would have to be a power wagon and a DAMN good deal for me to consider a mopar. Ford or Chevy is where it’s at for full 3/4 and 1 tons.

Ive owned an I6 Before and the ease of working on shit is a huge Plus for me. I drove a 6.7 Ferd for my old job and it' never left me stranded. The D-Max's i dont have an opinion on since ive never driven one.

Looking for a 3500 dually mega cab 2007 vintage. Either that or another 7.3 truck or Excursion.
I was the diesel tech at a Chevy dealership I'm not impressed by any Dmax. I owned an old 7.3 power stroke when I worked for them. Our Scout troops bus is constantly in the shop for something.
One of the best made!!!! 18mpgs all day no matter the load it's haulin. Same with the old 5.9 and early 6.7 Cummins. All the newer stuff with the EPA stranglehold have issues and lots of them.
