how do you peeps feel about high mileage oil ??

I’m about to hit the 200,000 mile mark.

Wondering if I should start using it.

 

Pfft, that's low miles on a tacoma!

 

The bottle recommends any mileage over 75,000 figured I went way over that mark.

 

I'm offended that's mileagist...

Is regular oil causing any leaks? Got any irregular wear? Would be interesting to send a sample off to Blackstone labs for analysis and ask them if you should switch.

Working on 170k myself. I think the sparkplug have been changed twice

 

Just pushing that agenda that some magic number of miles makes a car old and we should buy new cars every year or 2, or multiple times a year @Bubbles @scottalot

 

Negative. Monday at the latest. At this point I am looking at heading out early next Thursday am.

I’m at 166xxx and still on the 5W-30, but have switched to high mileage full synthetic (Mobile 1)

 

I was running 0w20 for all 170k miles on mine. Still ran perfectly fine.

 

I run Supertech 0w-20 high mileage. It’s actually highly rated over on BTOG forums.

 

Any recommendations/opinions on where I can get an aluminum skid plate? RCI is looking like my go-to right now....$283 shipped to my door.

 

No need to go thicker, pretty much unless you're having issues don't change. Send a sample of your oil to Blackstone labs. They can tell you if you have too much wear metals in your used oil and can make recommendations.

 

Got the new wheels and tires put on the caddy. Doesn’t look like a geriatricmobile anymore.

Couple more things to do and I’m done with it.
