South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

I can’t quote everyone who responded, however I thank everyone for the reply’s.

 

I'd advise more upstate, Greenville/Simpsonville than Charleston! Stay outta the hurricane range!

 

I live in the city North Charleston. Charleston, Daniel Island, and Mt Pleasant are all pretty expensive. Not sure what things are like in Maryland to compare it to though. This area is getting pretty crowded and they are still developing more land. We bought our house in 2014 for $229,500 and now it’s going to be listed for $319,900 in a few months. We pay $2400 a year in taxes this year on our house, and $2400 a year in insurance. We are looking to move out towards Spartanburg in a more Rual environment and get some land. Taxes here are pretty rough. My 2007 Tacoma with 175,000 miles just cost $225 in taxes this year. Wife’s 2014 sequoia was over $475 and newer vehicles are even more. My boat tax was around $700 a year but I had a cheap boat. There are decent schools. Crime is steadily rising though. I’m sure that’s everywhere. Stay strapped or get clapped. If you post more info about what kind of price range your looking at for houses and jobs, I’m sure we can help direct you somewhere.

Now I get to shit in a Porta Potty and go outside to a shower trailer for the next 90 days of my life. CMSgt asked me if I had any questions about the transfer and I said No and walked the fuck out. Sucked going back to my section and telling my team I’m no longer there leader.

 

How can you advise the upstate when you don’t even live there yourself?

I'd def be in Greenville before Charleston...at least in Greenville you are only a couple hours each way to the beach or the mountains (or Atlanta if that's your thing).
