Crap, I can't wear the pants I was wearing in March of last year, and I'm blaming Covid for that.

 

Sadly the slow down is with the COs these days but it's all good.

 

Quit smoking a year ago and I can no longer wear jeans I could in HS. Damn the quit smoking weight gain.

 

Truth right there. My former Boss for told by a Dr. to start again. Said the massive weight gain he suffered was worse than smokin itself.

 

I haven't gained that much but that seems like he needs a new doc. or at least one that sends him to dieticians and prescribes exercise vs smoking again

Sitting here with the old pupper. He went in today and had a mass removed from his leg. Doing pretty well for a 13 year old who just had surgery.

 

He is right where he wants to be. God speed for his recovery!

 

Definitely, got his seat on the couch and enjoying peanut butter spiked with pain meds lol.

 

I kinda did make it my life. But it's not as bad as eating 1 carb and you completely go backwards. I think once you get keto adapted, you can have more carbs. When I started I went strict under 20g a day for 6 weeks. So it became a habit. It's actually hard for me to cheat now.
It's really easy for me to stick to it for 1 simple reason. Sugar causes me pain. I have degenerative disc disease in my neck. Sugar really exacerbates inflammation. Before keto I was downing at least 1000mg of NSAIDS a day and it stopped working and I'm 95% sure it caused an ulcer. After keto, my neck is 95% better. I rarely take anything for pain. I still have neck issues but the inflammation is gone. If I were to eat 1 donut, I'd feel it a couple of hours later.

 

Glad you can control most of that with diet. Thought I had it bad bein’ Celiac & that Donut remark was memories of my last known bit of gluten before I doubled up in pain shortly after.

 

Never heard it said since. But Truth. Within 6 months the difference was unbelievable

 

His Mom managed the store til the day she dropped dead right there in it at 86yo. Still had a smoke in her trademark cig. holder when she keeled over too.

 

It's amazing what's linked to your diet. Wouldn't keto work for that? I mean you're basically eliminating gluten.

 

No Eggs either. I’m not sure. All I know is I pay a fortune for food but my diet sucks due to Work hours.

 

I started fasting 16 hours a day. And I’ve lost 14 pounds so far. Shooting for another 16 pounds before I ship back home. My eating window is from 7 am to 3 pm. And my eating portions have really been cut down. Funny thing I don’t feel like I’m starving. I use to be a 4 or 5 cans of Dr Pepper guy before I got deployed. Now I only drink one at lunch. Back home I would have a snack and ice cold Dr Pepper at 10:00 pm. Shit now I have nothing past 3:00 pm. I would have never thought I could pull that shit off. Fasting is kinda like being poor. No food to eat so you lose weight.

 

Classic bad habit it eatin’ & not burnin’ it off. Food doesn’t digest right I guess. Sleep better too.

 

a lot of times I would lie awake at night not being able to sleep. Here I hit the pillow and I'm out like a light.
Could be the 0530 wake up alarm and 12 hour days. Could also be my last Dr Pepper is at 1130.
