Here's another one for ya: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/buyer-beware-explore-overland.765045/

This seems like one of the worst offenders yet. They were actively pursuing sales and taking money from people up to the moment they shut it down and disappeared.

You see these threads every year or so with some fabricator that seemingly gets in over their heads then it all falls apart. It’s a shame.

RST (Rock Solid Toys) did the same. I was about to ship them my truck, had email correspondence up to 4 weeks before the thread hit TW. I also got caught up in the Pelfrey Built chaos. Bad luck, but got my money back from Pelfrey thankfully.

It's these situations that made me balk at BashFab asking for an unsecured $600 transaction to purchase materials before making sliders for me. Several people here vouched for him, but after all the stuff I've seen on here lately I just decided to pass on it for now.

I too, can vouch for him. He’s done sliders for me, has a set of sliders working for a buddy, and working on my brother in-laws truck soon. He’s a single man operation that hasn’t gotten over his head like most of these “big” fab companies.

Yea I think the way he does it is smart for a small out of the garage shop! Instead of throwing up a website and taking orders he can't fulfill in a timely manner this gives him the ability to get jobs in and work through them with a deposit.

I too have done business with THE CHAD. He did keep my GX for 3 weeks while he designed my bumper. Mainly because he had never built anything for a GX before and had other things going on. But I've been very happy with the bumper and sliders.

And with all of these other horror stories, I wanted someone local just in case there was issues.
