That sounds like a damn good time.

I am actually about to invest in some adjustable UCA’s and bring my lift down a hair. Then I’ll be OR ready :p

If what you have in your Bio is correct, you already have an OR ready vehicle. The capability may be different based on what you've done previously, but an e-locker is capable of handling most easy to moderate trails. Tires also play heavily into gripping loose ground but if you're trying to even out a wonky lift then it's ok.

Yeahhhh… long story short, I took off a heavy front steel bumper. My 2” lift went to a 2.7” in the front lol. I am having it adjusted in a week or so, I have everything set to accommodate to the weight of that bumper. Anyway! Someone scared me.. and told me that with a 2” lift I need adjustable UCA’s. They said since I don’t have adjustable ones I shouldn’t OR. So.. while I am a noob, I’ve just been cautious lol.

I personally wished I would've spent the extra money for the aluminum bumpers. So I understand why you'd want to lose a little weight. You shouldn't have to replace your UCA to get you back into level, instead look at a lighter weight spring for your coilovers or a progressive rate spring or just get adjustable front struts. I'm thinking about swapping my OME's out for some reservoir'd Kings with custom valving. Dont get me wrong, I love my OME's and they've treated me good in the 9 years I've had them installed. The Dakars in the back are still properly arched in the back but I'm ready for a little nicer more comfortable on road ride. Having adjustable UCA's will only truely affect your Caster and Camber and possibly limit rubbing on your cab mount so I'm not quite sure who told you that you needed adjustable. Anything above a 3" lift will affect your driveline angles which may need a carrier bearing drop shim or wedges on your T-case.

Adjustable UCAs is way less about being able to OR and more about getting a proper alignment after a lift.

The one that was on there just wasn’t for me haha.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine with my UCA’s and bringing it back to a 2” for sure.

Where is URE? Interested but forgive me, not familiar with this abbreviation. Definitely interested in checking out some tacos, meeting everyone and beer.

I'm running some 1st Gen SPC's which give me +-2* Camber and 0-4* of Caster. With wider tires than stock, you run in to a chance of rubbing the tower at full stuff or full droop so having the ability to take the top of the tire and pop it out away from the strut with some extra positive camber helps to negate that. Additionally, being about to push the caster forward helps to get the ass end of the tire from rubbing your cab mount. Granted, there's only so many miracles that can be performed before you gotta get out the sawzall and trim up your cab mount to stop rubs. If you're trying to squeeze in 34" and larger tires, you're going to rub and you'll need to trim your cab mount and probably your front fender & flares. By putting in new UCA's, I'm still not seeing how you are going to expect to lose height on your lift. I dont want to steer you away from something that will definitely help you keep your alignment woes under control but you might want to look at replacing your front coils with coils rated 50lbs lower. For my example, I'm running 886 coils which are rated for my estimated front end weight. Now ARB had a sweet chart breaking down all their springs but my work VPN isn't letting me pull it up but the link should be this. If my memory serves me correctly, if I wanted to pull my front bumper off and shed about 120 lbs from my front end, I'd want to step down to an 887 or 884. These springs should have the same spring rate on compressed and uncompressed but have about 150lbs less supported weight to keep my drivelines close to what they are now. Take Icon for example whether you love or hate them, they have a 650lb spring and a 700lb spring. Both are similar in size and compression rate but you can see that if you stepped down from the 700 to the 650, youll loose about 100 lbs (split across 2 springs) from your front end resulting in your front end drooping down a bit. It starts to snowball when you get into progressive spring rates but you get my point. Try stepping down to a lower spring to level you out, or if you're on pucks or riser blocks, remove them from the front end. I'm looking at something close to this for my new suspension but I want the 3.0 instead of 2.5. I still have to do serious research before I pull the trigger but I would go all in and update my UCA's and LCA's mainly for the greaseable features that some provide. I'm hearing clunks and thumps when turning and going over bumps so thats what I'm dealing with. My Dakar springs are fine, they'll probably need a scuff and repaint with new bushings but they're still serviceable.

Bottom line: UCA's will fix your alignment issues and potential rubbing, but springs will help bring you down level (Unless you've got your truck on blocks).
