Happy eclipse day. Nothing like the one in 2017, but a good view in charleston none the less.

Same. My Miller Elite is really only used when I'm welding on the bench.

I actually feel foolish for spending $200+ for the Miller shield.

    I don't think it's $150 better.

Some claim the speed of lense darkening is faster for the higher end lids.

I read once that the HF lids change in 1/20000th of a second and the higher end units change faster, around 1/50000th if a second.

Neither one is faster than the speed of light.

In addition, when I'm using the HF lid, when it gets knocked off my head and it hits the ground, I don't think "that's gonna make an expensive sound".

Neither are perseptible to the human eye. The only thing I would expect out of a higher end hood is consistency, 1/50000, 1/49999, 1/50001.. HF I can only imagine it's like 1/20000, 1/199, 1/259999. As far as people complaining they are blinded by the hood not darkening, they all should have UV blocking so your eyes should not be damaged, just a bright flash.

I love it. I’m coming from a 13 Off Road so the 11 years made a huge difference. I’m taking it on a short road trip this weekend so I’ll test the mpg.

I like the 4th gen alot. I'm seriously considering getting one in a couple years. Then the new 4runner dropped and I really like it as well.

I am right there with you. I was talking to my significant other about getting a new 4Runner and she didn't share my enthusiasm. So, we'll see what the future looks like.
