Anyone going to the off-road meetup on Memorial Day in Charleston?

Also anyone need a timing chain kit for a 2.7? 1st gen... before I toss mine - didn't need it.

Gave the 16 year old rig a bath. Hit it with a chemical guys ceramic spray. Ready for a Beaufort trip this weekend.

Swapped out the front suspension yesterday at Bash Fab, put lighter springs on. Serviced at Lugoff Toyota and they put a several grams of coolant into the AC. Good to go now! IMG_2905.jpg IMG_2902.jpg

Currently have a Masterbuilt hopper fed charcoal grill. I love the functionality of it. Grills very hot or smokes very low. However, the part that distributes the heat is rusted out and parts aren't available since that model is discontinued. I'm contemplating a newer version of it or a pellet grill.
Pellet grills seem easier to light and start but doesn't get as hot. And some say they don't produce the smoke a charcoal grill does. That is burns too clean.
I want something easy to smoke, easy to start but with the wood/charcoal flavor.
Any opinions from any of y'all that have had pellet grills?

Well, been down here for a couple weeks now.

What's with old people doing the speed limit or below in the left lane?

Other than that, I'm loving it. The heat and humidity will take some getting used to, but definitely enjoying Columbia so far.

I have 3 smokers… my two easiest are Weber Smokey mountains 18.5 and 22”, cheap and simple. Pair it with a BBQ Guru DIGIQ blower and it keeps temp like a pellet grill. Allows you to use lump charcoal and chunks of wood for flavor that you mentioned. Come check mine out sometime.

I thought that was a traffic violation? Wasn't there a campaign to educate left lane campers?

I travel 77 from Ft. Mill to Colombia every other week and thought I saw Bill boards about this.

On my many drives to Ohio and back I’ve seen numerous police move people out of the left lane with lights, then continue on their way. Just did my third oil change since mid February… my Tacoma loves being on the road.

Also just moved to Easley from Littleton/Denver area a few months ago. I grew up in Florida so the humidity/heat so far is mild in comparison to that but still no walk in the park.
    IMG_1143.jpg 4EECFC03-D6DC-4EB4-A77D-916EC2992FFE.jpg
Here's my setup I did all the work out in Denver and took it wheeling on some awesome trails out there and going to eventually start exploring some out here once I figure out all my suspension problems. The couple of cross country road trips have taken a toll on the suspension hence the CV rebuild. Drinker's side took me 2 days to finish the job, I couldnt get the outer boot over the hub for the longest time and the grease was everywhere. I finally got it stretched over and tightened down and then found out I messed up the threads on the axle nut when I was 'tapping' it out of the hub with the hammer. then I went out today to take a picture of it all back in once I sorted that out... and I guess I'd poked a hole in the boot when jamming it back into the TC. FML Im just gonna slap some JB on it for now and see how that holds up, Its not on the part that stretches but I bet itll give out at some point. Problem for another day.
Also replaced the lower shock bolts with ones that dont have the notches to see if that remediates my clunk on that side and so far so good... however discovered my driver side bolts are frozen to the shock bushing and the bushing sleeve is now free spinning inside the rest of the 5100 bushing so now I gotta replace those. Got some new LCA's as well so Ill probably have to cut those alignment bolts out too. What a shitshow this has become but feels good to finally go after some of those pesky clunks and thunks I'd been ignoring for a little bit to try and get some more longevity out of my baby

Welcome to SC! On my 2007 I soaked my alignment cam bolts with PB blaster and was able to get them out without cutting. I did replace them with the “greaseable” ones from RockAuto and they rounded out on the first alignment… then I put the OEM ones back with marine grade grease on them and was good to go. Be careful when bushing start seizing, the cam tabs will bend very easily. I did the Marlin Crawler LCA gussets to fix my bent tabs. Did the total chaos tabs on my 2005, and the MC kit on my 2007 gave more support to LCA and tabs.

Yep I plan on giving them a few days of PB blaster soaking before I go after it and see if I can get them out but I will have the sawzall sitting next to me during the attempt as intimidation to the bolts. Since my lower shock bushing already froze to the bolt Im assuming itll be a similar situation on the lca bolts but fingers crossed.

Ill take it... I grew up in central florida/Tampa area for 28 years where its 9-10 months of brutal summer, with 3 weeks of nice weather, then frigid humid cold for a month, then 3 weeks of nice weather and back to sweltering rainy summer again. I'd had enough and then got to spend 7 years out in Littleton/Denver area where we were getting 2 feet of snow as early as halloween and as late as mothers day in the winter and dry hot summer that pushed 100deg. Night and day difference. Being here has been a nice mild 'in between' from the two from what we've experienced so far

Thanks man! Just remembered, I think I can get a big green egg for free or very cheap. That paired with that blower may do the trick. I'll do some research.
