Make sure to check out Charleston when it rains pretty good and around rush hour. Then you will know what parts always flood and which roads are always jammed with traffic. lol, but seriously.

If your are looking at Charlotte area.....just do like everyone else. Move to Fort Mill or Indian Land SC so you can live in SC and work in NC. You benefit from cheaper gas, supposedly cheaper taxes, WAY better school system(if you got kiddos) and a bit quieter/safer neighborhoods to live in. But if you will have to commute to Charlotte "city" area, it will take you an hour to go 15 miles during rush hours but any other times maybe 20-25 minutes.

 

Oh come on you're just being modest, SC is the place to be. Sweet oceans, Upstate, low country, bridges, culture, variety, etc. something for everyone

Any of you peeps take your truck to ECGS to have your truck re geared? Got my appointment lined up in a few weeks. Stock gears are struggling with the 20 ft bay boat. Wonder if it’s going to take me 8 hours to get home thanks to their break in suggestions.

 

Toured the place in 2016 when moving to Durham was on the table for a job, but they didn't do anything to my truck. Really impressive facility and operation though.

I'm sure they'll brief you on when to change the oil after break in, but when that time comes, highly recommend redline heavy shockproof oil. Inflation the last few years hasn't done the price per quart any favors, but it's a really amazing product.

Also a tune would be greatly beneficial for towing. Get with @jayandersen5 on that.

 

I did it 3 years ago. Just varied my speed on the highway back and took a break like every hour or whatever ECGS recommended. It's a big investment so don't be in a hurry to get home.
