Finally got a chance to put the John build to the test. Worked out pretty well…. Didn’t sink.

 

Selling the large BGE if anyone is interested. Just bought about $250 worth of accessories including a new gasket. $600 OBRO

Put a deposit on a metal building for my truck to live in. they are pricey. Buy once cry once though.

 

So ugh how much did you pay for it? I need something to park my vehicles in.

 

$15,000 after discount and taxes. Buildings over $18,000 are 23% off this month through the people I purchased from. It was $1600 more to get a third bay so that's what I did.

 

Are you pouring a concrete pad for it?

Longhorn Steel Structures. Built it out myself. 30x41x11 with three roll up bay doors, two walk in doors on the ends and two windows on each end

 

Was about $20k before the discount. Concrete is separate though so you are about right. I figure 8-10k for the pad. Then of course I need a two post lift for the middle bay

 

Fair enough, are you going to put a shitter in there and run some electricity? Nvm I see the lift for the middle bay, you’re definitely running power too.

 

No, negative in power and water. Everything will be generator powered. They wanted $1500 to get a building permit and I'm not paying that. Taxation is theft. I am building a solar setup to run the whole shop. It'll have a wood stove too. I'm gonna live out there. I've never had my own space before. It'll be glorious. Many beers will be drank and many vehicle built. Gonna start buying cheap jeeps and modify them and selling. I want to build a test track for Wheeling and have a side business building TJs and Yotas.

 

Should be a sweet setup! I want to build a barndominium on my property, move in and rent out the regular boring house.

 

Dang that sucks on the building permit but I see you getting electricity in the near future! I have a 1 car shop currently that has electricity but doesn’t have AC, I need to get on that.

 

I think 10k for the pad would be a good deal. I've been seeing some high prices for concrete lately.

 

I put a minisplit in my connected garage(shop) when I finished the inside and insulated, worth it!
