    Here's the link: http://sckayakfishing.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1033

I did some measuring, but I'm not sure if I should go ahead and start making it because I might be getting a UWS toolbox for my birthday on the 4th, and the dimensions would be different with a toolbox. I'll bring it to the meet though if it's done

that's pretty cool.. but I would think of a fail-proof way to have it secured in the bed.. the rope doesn't seem that secure... the bolts do though...all that weight will make it top heavy.. or it seems... are you a DCSB or DCLB?..

Yeah that's true. and it's a DCSB. I'm also considering extending two pieces of pvc covered in pool noodle onto the cab to fit my entire kayak
(11.7 ft sea kayak). Also I need to figure out the best was to secure the kayak to the rack, but I guess I'll just use some tie downs or something like that

Sorry if I haven't been bs'ing with y'all. I was driving from Clemson through Tennessee. :0 we are going to Illinois to watch this play preformed by kids with mental and physical disabilities. So ill be in Illinois this entire weekend. we left around 6 pm and aren't expecting to get there till 6am lol this drive has been crazy, we took my friends Chevy sonic a compact, my taco is chillin at school lol:( the gas mileage would be too bad for this trip. We traveled about 260 miles and it took 8 gallons of fuel and 25$ to fill up. I was pissed lol. :D

can I offer a suggestion ... one I would ask your dad if it would be ok to get the OE roof rack .. See my build or Cam's to see what they look like.. its probably the best out of the options you have.. other one would be make the front H out of PVC that connects to your rail system w/ bolts.. then I Would purchase a trailer hitch rack like this > [IMG]...then it would atleast be be sturdy

to protect your truck and your kayak.. (trust me on this.. I have experience in messing both up) Its best to save up your money and do things right the first time than to do the easiest and pay for it later...

You can buy one of those things at harbor freight for around $125. It goes into your hitch receiver and can be mounted like pictured or can be mounted so the cross bar is further back and pretty level with the bed.
