South coast Toyota Tacoma has trd pro at msrp

Hey guys sorry if this isn’t the right place but south coast Toyota in Costa Mesa (Southern California) has a solar octane trd pro for msrp I just bought a truck from them and saw it on the lot ask for Fabian in the internet department

Yup, the window sticker doesn't mean a thing. That's what happened to me every time until I went to a Smart Path (volume) dealer. I got $100 off MSRP.

 

Hmm maybe because it was a pro? I bought my trd off road premium 4Runner from them for msrp

Don’t forget California tax, title, and license. Bet that’s another whopper to swallow.

 

You only pay that if you live in CA. You pay vehicle taxes for the state you register it in, not where you buy it.

 

Seems a bit pricy. Dealer adjustment and they adjusted it up $5,000 are you shitting me? Why would advertise that? I haven't bought an actual, I should say actually bought, a vehicle in a few...too many, I guess years. WTF is going on out there?

 

Maybe the dealer does not want to sell the Pro. Maybe they want it to sit on their lot so TW members can come by and take a picture. If that is their strategy it seems to be working.

 

If you drive it off the lot in California you pay tax regardless of where you register. If you ship it on a truck you’re exempt.

 

That it in the Canyon Denali price range. Not sure, if I was in the market, which way I would go there...but I am leaning Denali off the bat.

 

One more reason CA sucks donkey bits.

I almost had a cardiac paying 38k out the door 2 years ago. Still bothers me.

Dealer sent me an offer on my 2021.... said they would give me $21,000 and put me in a 2023 and keep my payments the same
for another 4 years LOL ... right ... I owe less than $6k on it... sure... what a deal LOL ... they called me yesterday I told the chump
I'd take $75,000 in cash ( small bills )... they keep calling I keep sticking to my price.

 

Depends on the state you register it in. In Arizona if you pay a tax rate of 5.6% or greater you are not required to pay tax in Arizona.
If you paid a lessor amount ( percentage wise ) you pay the difference.

 

My 22' trd also had the same markup online at lancaster toyota, with the fully loaded options I was looking for... it was about the same price they had on this solar octane pro. I asked em over email what they could do with the 5k mark up(this was mid 2020's) and they took off $3k right away which I def wasn't expecting... at the time it was an unheard of deal lol, unless you waited on a list at lets say longo toyota...

 

You can find TRD Off Road 4x4 for about $2000 off msrp in SoCal right now.

 

There is no way I would accept $21K on a 2021 Tacoma.

FWIW, I got $20K trade in on my 2010 when I bought my 2021 a couple years ago. My truck was 11 years old and had over 100K miles on it.
