A place for us in the South East who enjoy fishing to share trip plans, organize, brag (lie) about our catches, etc. Doesn’t matter if you fish from shore, pier, kayak, boat, charter, etc...let’s get together for good fishing.

Let us know if you're coming down for any reason and want to fish...ALL WELCOME!

Hunting Island but it fills up super fast! Not sure about Edisto since the hurricane...maybe @scottalot knows of a place to camp on waters edge.

Let me know if you guys ever want to hit up the OBX. I'm usually down there 4-5 times a year. Before June and after September. Gets way too crowded during the summer.

Been going for 28 years. Watched it change over the years. Definitely not what it was, but it still keeps drawing me back.
Yes, you too. Perfect use for your LTC profits! :D

I haven't even been keeping up with the thread. Probably going to relax and sit down and catch up on that one tonight. I'm still over 100% total, so I'm not mad.

    /threadjack

    Back to fishing...

I'll post up some pictures tonight of my catches later on if I can.

You should try living in NC your whole life and pretty much living on the coast during the summers, it bums me out.

We could always hit up Portsmith Island camp there and fish! Not sure how the night shark bite is but that is one hell of a fun night of fishing from the shore.

That's not how it's done you gotta paddle your chunk bait and chum out a few hundred yards drop it and wait. That's the chicken way. But I have seen where guys use RC boats for fishing it looks pretty cool

I grabbed a couple lower cost drones to rig for dropping bait when I’m on shore/pier. Haven’t gotten around to figuring out on rigging them up yet...just don’t want to spend the money on that remote release dohicky thing that’s out there.

My buddy pulled in an 11ft tiger a couple yrs back that was one hell of a fight. We regularly hook big bulls. We go somewhat near the piers easy feeding for the sharks so they are all over the place. Plus you would be surprised how close they are to shore. I regularly see blacktips and such swimming around a few hundred yds out when I am out trolling around for kings.

There is a video on the net I think it's from abt 5 yrs ago or so of a 21ft boat being dwarfed by a great white off the coast of NC less than a mile offshore. I tried finding it but couldn't

We do that all the time haven't banned it yet :fingerscrossed:. Thankfully tourists think it's pretty cool and we talk to them kids get to pet the shark then we tail drag them back into the water. They are like alligators stay directly behind them and they cant get ya just get pissed about it. Surprisingly though most of them are pretty calm its the silly little blacktips and bluefins that are all wiley and want to get you.

Well it looks like this very quickly turned into a shark fishing trip and I am OK with that.

Bad thing is I don't have any gear my buddy is the one who does I never replaced any of my heavy stuff after the last hurricane decided the ocean needed it more than I did and ins. wouldn't pay to replace all of the fishing gear that my grandfather, myself, dad, and uncle had acquired over the yrs.

I have a decent amount of gear depending on what you're looking to use.
