DO IT! So much good fishing between where you live and where I live. :boink:

If you think you’ll eventually get into something like a Hobie...this is a great idea! Delay the instant gratification for the greater good!

Duh it is you use half the muscles to pedal a yak as you do to properly paddle one.

This what I’m working with. $200 w/ flush mount rod holders, a Scotty mount, no storage really but plenty of room for other mods.

You can take my Compass for a spin anytime...I know for a fact you’d be sold, especially with the price point compared to other pedal boats.

Nothing wrong with that. My first kayak and one I fished out of was a Pungo 120 that I rigged for fishing.

    You’ll believe it.

Yeah your's is the slowest of the hobies probably and it is still fast with less effort!

The hobies don't really have a transmission or prop so they can pretty much go as fast as your input and the hull allows. The other systems out there with props and gearing to the prop that's your speed limiting factor. Still less effort than a paddle yak. I can hang for a while with a pedal but then I fall off due to fatigue where the pedal using less energy you can maintain for longer periods of time.

I did that a couple times today to get a feel for the boat...was surprised how quick it got sideways! Felt like I had to counterbalance to not get tossed.

All scooter needs to do is pedal one...it’s a cheaper hobby than modding and demodding trucks.

If you get the tanker like Joe has. One reason I went with the compass was how light it was compared to the rest of the Hobie lineup.

Yup. I have the standard cart but can fit HD wheels, not sand wheels. Not enough beach around me to worry about sand tires.
