How does it work for night fishing. If your on the beach at sunset you have to stay? Or do you have to be fishing to stay? I assume they don't want you to drive at night or do they not have turtle hatches? Guess i should just read the rules.

Depends on the time of year. Off season, night driving is permitted. During the summer, they shut that down.

They're little yellow eyed meat grinders. Had a friend of mine almost do it. I was like, "You know we're an hour and some change from the nearest hospital, right?"

Lol. They get out of hand for me I just leave them in time out for a minute on the sand. Haven't caught a big enough one to beat with a stick yet. I somehow usually only end up with 15"-16" ones. Last year there was a blitz of 20"-30" down on Hatteras Island, like one they hadn't seen in 30 years, and as soon as I showed up they all left. Like usual.

I've always wanted to try for carp. And we've got some gigantic cats down here in the James River. Like 50-60 pounders are normal kind of big.

I say this every year, but I really want to fish more this year. I'm going to pick something new every year to fish for in addition to the other stuff I normally fish for. This year, I'm going for sharks. So thatst going to make me get down to the beach more. It's a win-win.

I might have to get up there one day and let you show me how to catch one of those things. Sounds like a good time.

About a 4 hour ride for me. Definitely doable for a long weekend trip.
