I’m located in South Orange County and am looking for an honest mechanic rather than the Dealership. Just took my 09 DCLB TRD Sport in for an oil change and got some recommended maintenance suggestions although I think the dealership is priced high...

Need new spark plugs, change diff fluid and they mentioned fuel injection and throttle body service but I thought when spark plugs were changed the throttle body would be cleaned at same time.....

    Ive got 100k miles now.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

    Thanks

DIY - all simple jobs. IMO, others might suggest a good mechanic.

But the beauty of our trucks, they are simple to work on.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
Get the Factory Service Manual (FSM). It's 'downloadable' on the Internet and will tell you exactly how the stealerships do it because that's what they use.

Check out the DIY area on the forum here and it's a great opportunity to learn a little about your truck and save quite a bit depending on how involved you want to get. Everything you mentioned is doable in your own garage in a few hours.

John/Mike at Harbor Auto are top notch. Been going here for years. These guys are straight up, legit mechanics. No BS, only what you need. Check out there 5 stars on Yelp. No affiliation, just a happy customer.

I’m not the OP, but thank you for the recommendation. I just booked an appointment with them tomorrow - their prices are fair and reasonable compared to other shops in the area.

Harbor Auto is great. They got plenty of work out of my 2002 Suburban, not so much from the 2006 taco.
