How long can you fly before you time out?

Usually, depending on conditions, we can get about 3 hours of flying on a tank of gas.

As a pilot, it depends on what type of work I'm doing. If it's nonstop within 25 miles, I can fly all day as much as I want.

Generally speaking, as this doesn't apply to every flight, if it's beyond that or there are stops at other places, the restrictions start closing in to 1,200 hours a year, 120 hours in a month, 34 hours in a week, 8 hours in a day for that type of work. That sounds pretty restrictive but we log our time in tenths of hours and only when we are actually flying the aircraft. For example, with helicopters, if you logged 8 hours of flight in a day, you have likely been at work 12-16 hours, possibly more.

    Edited for clarity.

I could take it or leave it but some consistency would be cool. Can't tell if I should open the windows, or have the heat on, or the AC or what. Figure it out Texas!

Yea, but rarely. Like 75% of our flying isn't under those restrictions so it doesn't affect me.
