I preordered a Blazing Blue pearl SR5 ( or so I was told) with a double cab and a long bed with the SR5 appearance package. I saw a 2016 Tundra on the road two days ago and thought, " hmmm, maybe some dealers already got them". I shot an E-mail over to the person I put in my preorder request with and he informed me that they were unable To get the truck with the appearance package. My only problem with this is that I think the chrome on the other packages is absolutely hideous. I currently drive a 2013 black tacoma. I have always wanted speedway blue, but unfortunately they do not offer it in 2013. The Blazing Blue Pearl is close enough to me to make the upgrade, plus refinancing would be smart anyway based on my current rate. That's actually why I went to the deanship to being with, to refinance my current vehicle.

All of this is to say; from reading the posts here, the dealership just gets an allotment based on what they request. The person I spoke with made it seem like it's impossible to get what I want in the SE region. If I'm going to spend the money I'm not getting the chrome. Anyone here have any idea how much truth there is to that statement? Should I try to get one shipped from a dealer out of the region, or are they just not producing the extra stuff right away? I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time, but I was pretty much lied to by the dealer. I could have refinanced a few months ago and just kept my current vehicle.

    Any input would be awesome.
    Thanks!
    ~Jesse

SET and GST are the odd ducks in Toyota, they are not actually part of Toyota USA so to speak.

if a region doesn't have what you want, goto another region.

Dealers from different regions are allocated trucks more specifically made for their areas. Yes......if you want a truck that is available somewhere else and not in your region, see if the dealer near you can work something out to avoid any additional shipping costs. If they won't do it, you may be on your own dealing with another dealership.
