It already needs tires, so that is an expense that would have been incurred anyway.

I do have some RPT1’s and X3’s in the shed :drevil:

Its just such a big vehicle. I get the appeal, but damn there huge. Throw on 35's and the thing deserves its on zip code.

Ive seen some Starbucks parking lots that are pretty tight.

it’s a slug compared to the 470 as well. It’s super slow…. like a big yacht compared to a speed boat.

Funny you say that. I got a '21 GX as a rental from the dealer a few weeks ago and I was shocked how under-powered it felt compared to my 470.

I planned to replace my wife's X5 with a new 460 this year. 460 owners, is there a tune for the transmission that gives it more pep or what? The motor makes more power on paper. Doesn't translate.

Idk of any tunes available, but on paper the 470 has a better power to weight ratio. Not by much however, and your probably right. It all comes down to the trans tuning.

Having said that ive never driven a 460.

Yeah, I figured maybe they had something like the Tacoma does to address the lack-luster auto transmission in the 3rd gen. I drove the 460 around quite a bit and I loved it otherwise.

my only complaint besides the lack of power is the driver seat. Maybe it’s my body type but the lumbar, no matter if fully deflated, sticks in my lower back and feels like a 2x4 back there. After driving for about an hour it really starts to become uncomfortable.

the trans on the 460 is just as good as the 470. Very smooth. The engine does have more power but it’s pushing a land yacht. The 6spd is nice though for highway cruising. Ours will get 21mpg all day long on long trips. I got 24mpg last time we took it to the beach.
