that is also assuming you don't need wheel weights on the inside of the rim. something to keep in mind. if you add sticky weights, they won't clear.

Might be an idiotic question here, but a 9" wide wheel shouldn't rub any more than a 7.5" wide wheel so long as they have the same offset, right?

I guess it depends on the offset, and you could get lucky. But say you have a 0 offset wheel, you’re going to add .75” of width in either direction from the center of the wheel.

That’s why different widths come in different offsets, too wide and too positive and you’ll rub suspension components, too negative and you’ll be clearing the fender well for days

Agreed. Just haven't seen any other options outside of custom Satoshi. There is talk of adding a blank option (i.e. no text) to the one I posted above. Probably wouldn't be too hard to have a blank insert 3d printed.

Seems like there's an aspect of it that's just "go for it and hope for the best," which is contrary to my over-research to the point of mental exhaustion mentality...

The wheels I'm looking at are 17x9" with -12 offset. Hoping this would work on 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s with the Ironman FCP kit (using their UCAs) with minimal rubbing.

Maybe others running that size can chime in, but I bet it’s going to rub a good bit. I’m running 18x9 0 offset with 275/65/18 and 2”ish lift, and it rubbed all the plastic up front (gx460 for reference). I still rub the front plastic piece on the step boards when I hit a bump at speed while turning.

You are pushing the wheel out significantly further out than stock, so I'd venture to say it's going to rub...

Thanks-- That visual is amazing, and I always forget that site exists. For some reason offset/backspacing is like the one thing that my brain just cannot compute. The visual helps a ton.

So I guess the follow-up question is more about how wheel width would affect the potential for rub given the same tire size, wheel diameter, and offset. Say, a 17x7.5" wheel vs a 17x9" wheel, both -12, and on a 285/70/17 tire. My brain sees is as "tire is the same size, shouldn't it rub the same regardless of wheel width?" Any thoughts?
