Well looks like I might have to rebuild my steering system. There's a dead spot about in the middle as I'm turning lock to lock. It's especially bad when it's cold. When I leave work and back up and turn at the same time, it's more difficult and I'm hearing some clicking/popping. I'm going to start with the pump as it's making noise. But that also means a new reservoir and new hoses.

EDIT: Spoke to some technicians. I didn't realize that there's a filter in the reservoir. I'm going to start there as it may be clogged preventing fluid from circulating.

Get a new reman reservior and flush the fluid while your at it...just get a gallon jug of Supertech Dextron II or III fluid from Walmart. It's pretty easy to flush, just dont let the reservoir go dry.

I'm not aware of a reman reservoir. I'm just getting a new OEM. Plus changing the hoses.

I have the Cardone, just haven’t had time to swap it and exchange the fluid.

I knew I'd heard somewhere the Dorman wasn't good. The Cardone was out of stock so I just said F it and ordered the OEM part.

Anybody have radiator failures on a 470? Curious if there are any common failure locations. I found some seepage and am curious if it's the radiator or the hose. Replaced the hose roughly 30k miles ago along with new clamps and it looks like it's fully seated. Need to investigate further when I get some free time.

Any chance it might be leaking from up higher? (down the thermostat housing).

That's the highest point on the radiator. I can definitely see where the leak is, just can't determine if it's the hose/radiator connection or a crack in the radiator itself. With almost 200k miles on the clock, it's probably a wise move just to replace the radiator. Just need to figure out if it's worth it to go OEM or aftermarket. The OEM is $500 vs $200 for aftermarket.

They are known to leak. The end tanks are plastic. They crack after a few years and usually in cold weather.

you can get a Denso off Amazon for fairly cheap or go with a Koyo (but you lose the internal transmission cooler and gotta run an external unit).

Swapped out the PS reservoir this morning at work. Didn't replace all the hoses as we didn't have a lift free. I'll replace them soon and do a PS flush. Went thru 3 bottles of PS fluid just sucking it out of the reservoir when it got black

Also installed the DD 12" light bar. Still need to aim it.

The SBE Precision part fits TOO well. After installing the AOB switch, I realized the illumination wire was connected to the wrong factory wire. The switch was staying lit up even when the car was off. I was being very careful removing it but this happened.

Saw my first at Cabelas today. Spoke with the owner, he plans on modding it. That color in the sun is amazing, too bad it’s like 20 grand more than what we paid for ours a couple years ago lol

Yup, January 2020 we bought our 2017 w/15k for $41,000. I wasn’t convinced I got the best deal around, but not bad. Now I see the prices and am so glad we pulled the trigger haha

Nah. I’d get a used LX for that price point.

The market is truly insane. We're paying over original MSRP for trade ins. Like the 2020 TRD Pro we just traded in ......
