Interesting that you and I are in a similar boat. I bought an 09 470 about 2 months ago.

    good luck with the GX.

@w.adventures is my mod support system. He supports me spending money on stuff I’ll never install.

Not at all worried about the year of the rig, I know they last forever and this one happens to be turn key ready so it saves me time and money. I am also not ashamed to say this shaves off debt, lowers monthly cost of living and I'm not losing the ability to wheel and camp so I'm pretty happy with that. Only thing I need to do is install carplay

    Form follows function
CarPlay might be a tough one. There is a module that keeps things looking stock (stock poor res screen), android based unit (2 sizes, one that keeps some buttons and another that is a giant Tesla type screen), and then there is upgrading the interior to latest generation.

my guess is that the first option is the easiest/cheapest, the aftermarket screens are the biggest headache, and last option not done yet but very expensive (might be the best one if it can be done).

those GXs are pretty plug and play between models and years. Some folks on club Lexus (add riddled version of TW for Lexus vehicles) have also added terrain selection, crawl control and multi camera systems from newest generation to older rigs.

I really like my GX, you won’t regret it.

    Here is the rabbit hole:

Just get the Beat Sonic or Grom VL2

I personally will be doing the Grom, since I have it sitting in the box in my garage.

Baja design has a harness specifically for it, run harness to the lights, battery then splice into the high beam power with the provided ans built in quick splice

I'll send a pic of where I spliced it. If you're looking at the 6 pin connector on the left hand bright, it's the big black wire. The right is green

Oooh can I join? I’ve got a 16 with 40k on it and I ordered 6112/5160, Gen 5’s, and durobumps. Still deciding between Camburg and Superflex rear coils.
