They have photos of it opened at the dealership. If that rig had second row buckets, I'd be having a talk with them.

I have two kids. I don’t need the 3rd row full time, but I like the captains for when I do need it.

I’ve seen 2020’s with the WiFi. I know car play wasn’t a thing until 2022, but WiFi was definitely before

If you saw Wi-Fi in a 2020 it's aftermarket. Lexus didn't start putting Wi-Fi in GXs until 2022.

2018-2021 had what we call a Gen 9 system. Gen 9 systems didn't have Wi-Fi. For 2022, they skipped a generation and went to Gen 11. Gen 11 has Wi-Fi, CarPlay and Android Auto.
Gen 10 was the first Gen to get Wi-Fi. And it only had CarPlay, either from the factory or available to be added later. Depending on the model.

If you want any connected services like the SOS button (Safety Connect) or the Lexus Remote start thru the app, you have to get a 2019-up. 2018 and prior used Verizon 3G which got shut down last year.

Yes. It's my job. And I'm good at it. But believe what you want. Don't care either way.

On a side note, my reman cv axle was originally on backorder until July 4th. Was just told today that it's been pushed back until July 18th.

Yeah I'm starting to think that also. The reman Lexus axle is less than $100 so I'll give it a shot.

I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. You're saying that Lexus didn't offer WiFi until 2022. Did the 2020 T4R carry a Gen 10 system then? Why would the T4R offer WiFi before a premium vehicle like the 460?

I have no idea about what was in that Toyota. Toyota does things a little different than Lexus. But it's not uncommon for Toyota to get technology 1-2 years before it's put in a Lexus. I've been with Lexus for 15 years and have seen that a lot. It's like they use Toyota to work out the bugs before it's put in a Lexus.

EDIT: Lexus started putting Wi-Fi in certain models in 2018, it just didn't make it to the GX until 2022. Then it comes to infotainment, Lexus is a lot simpler. Generally you have 2 systems, navigation or no navigation. This can also affect screen size in most models. Toyota uses Entune and that seems to vary wildly (to me anyways as I'm not use to it) based on model and which audio system you have. For instance, the lady that cuts my hair recently bought a newer Camry TRD. By all accounts a car with a lot of options. Yet it had Entune .5 (not even 1.0) and didn't include Remote Start. That had to be added by the dealer. Given that Southeast Toyota is massive and not even owned by Toyota, they do a lot of their own things too. So there are a lot of factors and moving pieces involved in Toyota land.

bruh, why you so hung up on the wifi...just tether your phone to the kids tablets...that's what I do. unlimited data plan ftmfw

I use 200gb a month mainly due to my kids streaming shit while going to/from daycare (1hr ride each way 3x a week).

Not to mention that Wi-Fi in a Toyota/Lexus is 4G. Your phone is most likely faster. And to my earlier point, most of the time, Wi-Fi doesn't automatically start like it's supposed to. You have to manually go into settings and turn it on every time. We've brought this up with Lexus and they come back saying the car is in a low signal area. They really have no desire to fix this issue. Don't let Wi-Fi be a deciding factor in your purchase. You're gonna be disappointed.

Anyone replaced the front output shaft seal on the t-case before? Manual states to drop the transmission and was curious if anyone has tackled it first hand.
