Did you get the door hinge shims yet? My JW is going strong at almost 2 years. The license plate light casing broke but the light still works.

The shims I bought from Kaon but I think there are other vendors in the US now that carry them.

Did you find yourself needing the shims?

Yes, but just to make the door align the same way as stock. I ran it without shims for about 7 months, it was just a little harder to engage the latch before aligning with shims. Other than the door being heavier to swing, it closes and opens same as stock now.

As of now it opens & closes smooth as butter. The bottom piece does scrape my bumper so it’s got a hairline scratch of bare metal. I don’t mind the scratch and it’s nice to know it’s resting on the bumper when closed. I won’t do the shims yet but I fully expect to eventually as the weight takes its toll.

AAL in the back. Nothing special. Worked on pre 95 pickups, 1st gens, 3rd gens and the GX. Just havnt been around 2nd gens much. I figured they were pretty much the same, just wanted to ask.

    I appreciate it.

Yea, you’ll be good. Nothing weird. Just remember the nut/bolt orientation for the leaf spring shackles…I always forget and have to swap them around

Chase.in.point on instagram. That guy has an amazing rig and just wrapped up a 2 month vacation road trip where he toured the entire southwest desert. I think it was like 7k miles. Poor choice of wardrobe for sure but he’s a genuine fan of the GX platform & one of my favorites to follow on IG.

Team Tech Offroad switch installed last night. Appointment set for gears and lockers a week from today. I’ll have about 18 hours after the install to get it wired up before I leave for the annual TW San Gorgonio takeover. I’m thinking I’ll just half ass the rear locker wiring for the trip with zip ties. Won’t even worry about the front until after the trip.

Having some issues with binding on the JD Fab 934 CV’s that need to get sorted. Also front needs to come up some.

initial alignment was done. Just a bunch of oddball crap left to do.

Haven't been following, but what suspension did you go with (specifically in front)? I have a similar lift height and the tuner states that it is way too tall. Trying to dial in my CO tuning and springs.
