So today was maintenance and pulled the steps off.

 

I need to pull my steps off. They are held on with drywall screws.

 

Before you throw away the steps trim off the upper plastic and reattach it to the GX.

 

Started the de-chroming... need to pull my steps off too, but not until I’ve got some replacements

 

Started the lift install on the driver’s side, and this sits on top of the tower... What is it, and how do I drop the assembly with that shit on there?

 

It’s for the ride control, there’s ether one or a couple Allen heads on it you need to remove.

 

I think I ended up cutting mine off with the saws all.

Looks like I might be have torque converter issues. Randomly between 40-50mph, I get shuddering. Like I'm driving over rumble strips. Also randomly, when I go to accelerate, it feels like the engine loses power then catches up. We're gonna try several fluid changes, including a flush and filter change at some point and see if that helps. Otherwise, it's so random at this point, I'm not gonna worry too much about it.
You can get a reman converter for $200. But with 215k miles, if I remove the transmission, I'll probably install a reman transmission. Worst case scenario.

 

You work at a dealer...have them do a full flush with the BG machine they probably have. Quick, easy, and you don't have to mess around with drain/fills or the garden sprayer method.

Some pics of this past weekend. Some are grainy, sorry. We went to Metberry Gulch here in CO. 1 Tacoma, my baby boy home on leave, 1 GX me and my oldest boy, also home on leave and one of my Tundra homies.

 

I thought that since I don't contribute much I could at least share some of the fun and scenery we have out here in CO.
