Spoke to the loan officer 45 days ago, said underwriter approved it (Fanny Mae), and now it was in a que for closing...

I'm not quite in the SE, but I got tagged so I'll chime in here lol

Good to see some GXs in this group! In addition to my 04 Tacoma TRD OR (bought about a year ago), I also have a Nautical Blue 06 GX470 we got almost 2 years ago and now use as a daily and family travel rig.
    • Lifted 2" in the front with the Dobinson's gas strut kit (rear is lifted 1.5" with airbag sensor trick).
    • Method Racing MR309 Grid 18x9 wheels (-12 offset) mounted on LT285/65/18 BFG KO2s. Pretty aggressive offset, but helps clear the stock UCA and only required minor trimming of plastic (tip: try using a heat gun first before hacking up your stock plastic). That tire setup is almost too heavy IMO, but also helps keep the truck feel really grounded and stable. Plus, with the V8, I kind of DGAF about weight too much
    • Next splurge is RTT from @fatfurious2  and some aftermarket skids

Personally, I love the GX and don't see us ever selling it. It's probably the best all-around vehicle I've ever had in the dozens I've owned in my lifetime--obviously capable offroad, powerful, and just plain comfortable. Plus, one of the greatest body styles ever made :amen:

I'll see if I can add some pics here later.

Pretty much agree with everything said here, especially about the 470 so I won't repeat that part.

I actually had the GX470 AND an 80 series at the same time before selling the 80 a few months ago. You're getting two different machines, so it depends on what you're looking for.

The 80 feels like a tank--really solid with incredible/indestructible build quality, but definitely dated and not a great daily driver IMO. The motor is too small for the crazy weight and is a slow dog. My HG blew a few months after I got it, which was a pain and not cheap repair. At around 25 years old, you're now looking at doing a lot of maintenance...at least a lot of "baselining" because most of the fluids and rubber is probably shot and probably needs to be replaced. Little creature comforts on most of these have long been broken and will need work (for example, plastic gears in the power seats and lights in the panels).

On the plus side, if you can find a good deal on one, the 80 would be an amazing weekend trail rig/project. It's really capable even without being "triple locked" in line with the reputation, and actually feels somewhat narrow on the trails mainly because trucks nowadays are so damn large.

Bottom line: GX470 will give you most of the capability in a more modern and comfortable package.

    It's the "almost-too-small-to-be-useful" size lol

Can't remember which ARB model it is, but it's like 4' wide x 6' long. Don't use it much, and don't have many pics of it for that reason.

Welcome to the unicorn club! I have an aisin tb/wp kit brand new I’d let go of (it’s the OE parts without the stamp) I bought one for the tundra and one for the Lexus. The guy who bought the tundra didn’t wanna buy it for what I paid.
