This place is getting insane. I’m trying to move to Montana, Wyoming or Colorado.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio but I was just in Enumclaw on a work trip last year. Beautiful place. Seattle is cool too - rain and all.

So is everyone else. The West isn't what it once was. I was looking at houses outside of Denver last week. We found one that was $350K for 850 sq feet. o_O
Covid is giving so many the opportunity to work remotely that we are going to continue to see huge numbers of people moving to new states.

We're gonna sell our house in the spring, should make a cool six figure profit from it. Problem is finding a house to buy that also isn't over inflated in price ha

If I sell now with the amount of equity I have I can buy 100 acres and just build something simple. This place is getting way to overpriced.

Now you’re talking! 100 acres, build a custom home, nothing crazy, stand alone garage/shop. That’s what I dream of...!

It’s still cheap in the middle of nowhere but then you are completely off grid. 100 acres near any place worth living in those states is boarderline impossible to find or stupid expensive.

We sold our house in April and made a ton. I wouldn't call it win though because prices are so much higher than when we bought in 2015. We're going to end up with a shittier house than we had before, for more money.
I used to think I wanted to live in the middle of nowhere but I like breweries and good restaurants too much. I also enjoy having a social life that involves spending time with friends. Maybe when I'm old I'll appreciate the simple life.

Shit is getting crazy for sure. Bought a house in WA for $265k in 2014. Sold it in 2018 for $400k.

Moved to Central Oregon in 2018 and just bought a house on an acre. Purchased in May for $500k, currently valued at $560k just 8 months later.

The inflation in this area (and many others) is getting ridiculous. Home ownership for the middle class is quickly becoming a thing of the past...

And renting is even more expensive! We bought in this crazy market because it was cheaper to own a house than to rent.

So true. We were renting a house before we purchased. $2300/mo for a run down house from the 80's (appliances and all). We now pay $2500/mo for a house that's only 10 years old with all new appliances/HVAC. The fact that we are building equity AND property values are skyrocketing is an added bonus.

but if you rent and both AC units die in a year you don't have to pay out $25k to replace them, that falls on the owner :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Buy a house they said...

I've made over $70k in equity since we purchased in May. Makes up for any unforseen issues by far...

That's been going on for a long time. I was in the Denver airport in the mid-90s, and the locals were complaining about California residents moving there, driving up the prices of real estate...lol
