I'm in Birmingham al. I've looked over the thread of what did you pay but didn't find anything for my area accept msrp. I contacted a dealer in jasper, in because of recommendations from here. They offered 34k for a DC OR 4X4 with towing and tonneau. OTD 35600 after ttt. I thought it was a far price. Now a place in mobile, alot closer, is offering 35k OTD w/o tonneau cover since I've decided against it. Anybody getting anything better around my area or within a reasonable drive.

Ron Gooding at Uebelhor was the place in jasper. Very easy. 1 email two responses with his price. The other in mobile has taken me a lot of emails. Why does the Internet team need to talk on the phone? I contacted you online because I didn't want to talk to you!

Lol salesmen are salesmen, they probably feel that they have a better chance of convincing you to come in and make a purchase if they can sweet talk you in ways that don't translate via text. I'm the same way, would much rather communicate with salesmen via email, get what I want in writing, and then take that in to talk in-person.

I used the edmunds site and had 5 different dealers competing against each other over the phone. Finally called the closest dealer and had them beat the lowest price offer. Got a great deal and just showed up to give them a check and signed the papers. Competition works every time.

This, most sales lead companies are stuck years in the past, and or relying on misinterpreted information. It IS true, leads with phone numbers are more likely to turn into appointments, but not because a phone call is "better". If you're willing to provide your phone number and talk on the phone, you are more serious about buying (generally speaking). It's much less of a "commitment" to type on a keyboard. That being said, some people just hate the phone and would rather email even when they are serious. Keep in mind, we are in the instant gratification generation, and a phone call is quicker than an email exchange.

    Agreed.

But hang around forums like this and watch how many folks want to know where to order online and are never interested in making that fast phone call.

The same crowd that texts their SO on the other side of the table? :D

Palmers Toyota in Mobile had the best price for me and I searched the Florida panhandle, Mississippi and Alabama areas. PM me if you want the sales guys name I dealt with down here (I have it in my desk at work) but it was a straight no haggle price and beat everyone once he knew exactly what I wanted and what others had quoted me.

And at all costs avoid Springhill Toyota. They were by far the worst of the bunch, with Eastern Shore Toyota a distant second.

Bob Tyler Toyota wasn't far from those two in the bottom 3.

Dealers seem to be giving discounts like 2 to 3 thousand dollars off MSRP on the 2016. I assume this is because Toyota will start the production of the 2017 next month

I paid 33,250 OTD with 6% florida sales tax at Palmer toyota in mobile for a TRD OR 4x4 MT. Sticker was 33,700. Bob tyler toyota in pensacola gave me a deal at 33,300 out the door but had to order the truck and it was not in yet, and my local toyota dealer in Fort Walton Beach would not come off of sticker because they said there are no MT trucks out there at all. I had two trucks on order, one in pensacola and one at my local dealer, then the plan was to have them fight for my business. The lack of patience was getting to me about 5 weeks in. So I went on cars.com and I found one at Palmer's toyota. I called them, told them the deal I needed for them to earn my business and they beat it by 50 bucks and I went that day and bought my truck. Cut at least 2 weeks off the possible arrival time and got what I believe is a good deal on exactly what I wanted.

Note: this price did include the $1,000 military rebate.

Check out Palmer's toyota in Mobile. Ask for Sessions. He did a great job for me. I gave him everything he needed over the phone and he had the truck cleaned and ready to go when I go to the dealership. Tell him Justin with the MT sent you and ask him to send me my Bird dog feel. HAHa
