I was kind of thinking that myself. I went there last week ready to be scrutinized and turned away. A lot of trucks were coming and going though, and there was a lot of fun going on in the distance even though I was there during the day. As long as it's small I think it would be ok. Attached are some pictures I took while there.

During the day the Carver Mill area would be ideal for just a couple of people. I didn't know it was there even though I ride through the general area a couple of times a week. While people not familiar with it may think they're going out into the middle of nowhere reading the forum because there's trail, you're actually right in the middle of just about everything. Most is within a mile radius. I can answer any questions anyone may have about the area.

To your point though. While I don't mind being around there during the day, I usually head out as the sun starts to set. The overall vibe changes. I understand more now since I've been on the back roads.

There were a lot of 4x4s parked there and just about ever truck I saw arrive had an ATV in the bed. There was a lot of small engine noise as well as hooping and hollering off in the distance so I guess that's the norm there. I couldn't get back there with them as I needed to be careful everywhere I went.

After I left Carver Mill I refound a place in Greenville I used to go back in high school / college. It's developed some and some land owners have installed gates since then. Still though I think there's maybe a half mile. I was able to navigate it even with my truck so you're fine. If you want to bounce yours around and get it muddy I could meet you there if you want to have someone else there with a hitch.
