Interesting, I went to Frank last weekend interested in ordering White Sport DCSB Manual Trans with Premium & Technology Package and was told they couldnt sell this for any less than $500 under MSRP. So I walked away.

Im in Santa Barbara. I think that Costco may be our best choice. Keep me posted.

Yeah I went in there and they said they wouldn't budge from MSRP although that was before I looked into the Costco Auto Program. I filled out the Costco info and got an authorization number but it said they don't have prearranged pricing typically available on most makes and models through the Costco Auto Program. I am assuming that is because it was just released. If I can get the deal through Pasadena I will just go there because I still don't think they would budge.

A new car doesn't make the dealer any $ till it's sold. And smart sales managers and Gms know that their real profit centers are on things like your trade, F&I and service, so You can absolutely negotiate holdback against invoice and TDA. Dealers do it all the time, but it depends on the tining and the particulars of the deal.

That said, it's 100% a no-go on cars that are new, hot or have limited availability like the Tacoma. You will take the deal they offer you or the person walking in right behind you will.

I did a bit of window shopping and it looks like you'll be paying sticker. Actually I saw a few that had the bullshit "market adjustment" of like 2 grand above sticker.

You'll have a better chance waiting till the initial demand and hype dies down.

i live in the orange county area, and so far it seems most are pretty dead set on MSRP. if i can get 1000 off i'll probably jump on one once they get a 4x4 OR DCSB on the lots

We just bought a 2016 Double Cab SR5 Premium Pkg with Tow in Super White off a family friend over at Crown. This is a long time family friend and was only able to get $500 under MSRP. This truck was the only white 2016 in stock and was still in the back lot with wrapping on it. Hadn't been off the truck more than an hour. Negotiating holdback on these trucks right now is laughable. You walk off the lot, there's a guy right behind you waiting to buy it. These things are flying off the shelves and dealers aren't in a "need" to sell these trucks, the trucks sell themselves right at MSRP.

Was there a TDA fee at Crown? Can you post your invoice please?

Has anyone had any luck getting close to invoice? I've read in other threads people getting invoice but in a different state. I tried Costco auto program and they sent me to Miller Toyota. Gonna set up appointment to go in.

Nobody would budge for me near Goleta. Ask for Anjelica at Pasadena Toyota. She ordered me a TRD OR for 500 over invoice. They did have an estimated 500 or so TDA fees. Build time was unknown as it had to be allocated and I needed a truck so ended up picking up a 2013.

    Miller is a smaller dealer.
I have heard good things about them though.

I know people above had mentioned Crown Toyota. Every time I've dealt with them they were super professional I would give them a shot.

Do you belong to a credit union? You might be able to get a reasonable deal through autoland or a service like that.

Negative on Crown. Blew me off. Never wanted to talk price through e-mail.

Most dealers won't talk price over email/text.
As stupid as it sounds they want to know you're serious.

I'm not surprised they won't talk numbers on the 16 tho. They clearly aren't having problems selling them.

I know I was able to get numbers on my current car via text.

But a couple weeks ago I was looking into a Nissan sedan and they wouldn't do anything unless I came in.
I didn't expect solid numbers I just wanted a ballpark figure.
It's so stupid idk why they even offer the chat feature on those websites when all they tell you is to come in.
