That's how we feel. My father was sales manager at an exotic street bike dealership and has been in technical sales for over 20 years. That was the same thing he told me about the 20 week wait.

My wife and I are teachers, so we will probably be looking over Christmas break because they give us 2 weeks off! Hopefully there is stock around that time and we can make a deal on a random weekday near the the end of December.

 

Most likely true, however he was doing me a favor since it is unlikely that I will come across the exact configuration i want in that 20 weeks (he told me 16 to 18). Worth the wait to me to get the perfect truck.

 

After 2 months of trying to get a Socal dealer to order my Unicorn tacoma, White/gray TRD sport access cab [ 7128 ] with Premium & technology Package [ HG ] tow package [ TO ] I found Barbara, the Fleet and Internet Director at Larry H Miller Toyota in Corona, Ca. She gave me a great deal under MSRP and I could not be happier !! There is one already built that she might be able to get, if not I have no problem waiting for it to be built. Was starting to think I might not be able to get the exact truck I wanted. I had a 9 AM appointment this morning with her and it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Very professional Lady. They had about 6-7 in stock, all 4 door. Trd OR, sport and a few SR5's.

 

That's where I got mine, the only place around that I was able to get below MSRP.

 

How much under msrp? Like 3000 under?

 

These people are getting rude. I send my offer of around 2000 under msrp and they fire back that Tacomas have never received incentives from Toyota and the demand for these trucks requires an addendum to the listed msrp, not a discount.

Holy shit. I write back that I am trying to give them money for trucks they don't even have and for them to think of it as an investment.

One of them asked I was trying to sell them a truck, as a joke. It was kind of funny. But the rest are assholes

 

I frequent this forum less now that patience has set in. I dont even really need a new truck at this point. Lol

Best offer so far I found is 500 under MSRP for a TACOMA TRD OFFRD 4X4 DOUBLE CAB Los Angeles County dealer.

 

I paid msrp at Toyota of orange for the exact allocation I wanted. I figured I'd pick one up early and pay a little extra than deal with the hassle of haggling all of the socal dealers and then waiting 18 weeks

 

600 off SR5 - Riverside County - not want I am looking for - looks like they are starting to wiggle a little - might have to fly and drive to get a good deal or Uber

 

I'd say wait it out. I'll be holding off until I can get a deal. The best I found so far was $1200 off MSRP in N. California... I'm not in a position to pay MSRP on a Tacoma. Just put in a new kitchen at the house.

 

Having a crazy hard time finding a trd Sport LB with jbl tech and tube steps in los angeles. All dealers asking close to msrp. Best offer was 1000 off msrp. Any luck out there for other people in los angeles area?

 

1000 off MSRP is good for the LA area. That's a good deal at this time

 

Concur. From my initial attempts at finding a deal, that's a good price. Just watch out for marked-up add-ons.

My local dealer just told me that every one they sell is $2k over MSRP and they have a waiting list.

I talked with Chris (@Letsgoplaces) today and got a much better picture of the ordering and allocation process. I've got to recalibrate my expectations, but I may well go out of state.

 

Your dealer is feed u a load of BS. Costco is already at least $800 below sticker. $2k over sticker is complete BS

 

I tried costco in los angeles. They are not even offering the tacoma yet

 

Tried going in to Santa Barbara today, They won't budge. MRSP nothing above or below...just gotta wait until the MRSP purchasers leave the market and demand decreases...I've got a Truecar.com estimate for down in long beach, but who knows if they'd honor it....if they eventually take it, they'll take their own sweet time because they know they can sell at MRSP right now.

We have decided to wait until after the new year. We are going to save up some more money to have a bigger cushion after we pay for the new truck.

Also, hoping for trucks we want to sit on the lot for a few weeks, or more
