Have installation instructions been shared somewhere? I was told by another member its better to leave the front bumper together for cutting , it gives more support.

I have a question, I noticed the 2016+ tacoma winch mount plate can accept most 9k-10k lbs winches, but the 2012-2015 tacoma winch mount plate accept most 9k lbs winch. Now Would my 2nd gen(2014) tacoma accept 10k also or would i have to get a 9k lbs winch? @SouthernStyleOffRoad

 

Thanks for giving me the heads up on this. It was an error. I've updated the website now. Both 2012-2015 and 2016+ Tacoma bumpers accept most 9-10K winches. Solenoid relocation may be required.

 

So not to beat a dead horse BUT if I do not currently have the front sensors am I able to add this option? Or should I cancel it from my order?

The installation instructions will show the removal of the bumper for cutting, but we've had several customers who have cut the bumper while on the truck with great success. There seems to be some misconception about the sonar parking sensor option we offer. The 2016/17 Tacoma does not come with the front parking senors only rear parking assist. We offer the option to add the front parking sonar sensors to your bumper order. The sonar sensors we carry are Frontzone by Rostra. Ultrasonic Front Park Assist has a visual display with distance indicator in inches and adjustable audible alarm (Hi/Low/Off). The unit also alerts drivers to objects 3’ in front of the vehicle, and has triangulation detection software which offers consistency on targets of all densities with fewer false alarms. The system just needs a power and a ground connection and then it has a connector that fits onto the OBD-II port to determine the vehicle’s speed to turn the system on and off automatically. We will have a full install guide available with pictures tomorrow, I hope. If you choose this option to be added to your bumper, your bumper will have the necessary holes to install the sonar sensors and all necessary hardware. 1. The FrontZone sensors have a flat bezel on them when they ship but trucks that are lifted will need to use the 6-degree or 12-degree bezels that are included in the box to angle them downwards. For a 1-2” lift, suggested to use the 6-degree bezel. For a 3” or higher, suggested to use the 12-degree bezel.
2. The kit also includes an on/off switch where if the vehicle owner has something else plugged into the OBD-II port (like the new driving monitors insurance companies want people to use) and it will not accommodate our OBD cap, they can instead install this little switch to turn the system on and off manually when they need it.
