    Hey everyone,
Looking for some assistance from anyone who has installed the Southern Style Slimline Hybrid front bumper. SSO has a time lapsed video of the install but not much more info on that. Also, does the front bumper have to be removed?
I should be getting the bumper soon so I am just trying to get a head start on seeing what is needed to be done for the install. Any help would be appreciated and sorry if there is already a thread on this but I could not find one.

There is also a PDF of the install with some tips on the SSO website. Mine came with a print out of the same PDF IIRC.

How would one install a new front bumper without removing the current front bumper?

    Like, so many.
You’re cutting off the original bumper.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Yes, you need to fully remove the existing bumper and crash bar, as well as take a death wheel to your body. It is a very easy install, follow their video, follow the provided written instructions, and check out the link provided above. It is not at all difficult to do, but just be cautious with the body cuts - you can easily remove more, but you cannot add it back on!

I installed my SSO without removing the OEM one. Just ripped the black valance off and started cutting

Did you buy just the middle part or the one that comes around under the fog lights?

Easy peasy. Just have to make sure you cut enough that the wrap around meets the fender. I cut a little, lined it up, cut a little more, lined it up. Finally got it perfect. Can't even tell it's not one piece.

Like if you don't cut enough the end of the stage two won't meet the wheel well. If you cut too much the stage two will go past the wheel well. It's gotta line up like 1/8 inch off tops.

Ahhh I gotcha. Wether or not it's flush on the end of the stage 2 depends on elevation of the cut on the fender well.

    Makes sense. Thanks buddy!

No. That's the valance or "trim" as Toyota calls it. The bumper cover is the entire plastic bumper cover that stays on the truck.
