Close, but OP is from Buffalo. Winter starts in November and ends in April, although snow in October and May isn't unheard of.

I grew up in Rochester, 60 miles to the east and went to SUNY Buffalo for bachelors and masters degrees (6 years). I vividly recall seeing piles of snow in the campus parking lots at the end of the Spring semester in early May. Good times if you like winter sports.

Ahhh thank you. I've been getting some noises that alluded to a possible bad u-joint, wanted to get it on a lift. Perhaps this accounts for the noise (or a premature ujoint failure)!

Unsure if you intent to be rude with the "grown men cry" comment, but I also don't understand the rest of your comment otherwise.

You're suggesting I store my second vehicle, and buy a third, rusty vehicle? The more rust, the more repairs will be needed, and the longer they will take (and I no longer have an oxy acetylene torch). I wanted a rust free Tacoma so I could start fresh, prep it as best as possible, and retard the rusting process as much as feasible to enjoy the truck for as long as I can

Ha, winters have been a bit mild the past ten years but that has often been true!

I play hockey year round when the world is open, I do love pond-hockey when the temperatures afford it. I managed a skateboard/snowboard shop back in the day, haven't gone much the past 10-15 years but I plan to dust it off this socially-distanced winter!

I'm in Amherst MA now, and was proud to watch the UMass men's hockey team take second place in the frozen four (played in Buffalo) for the 2018-2019 season.

Regarding the above comment, I think people just really love their 1st gen tacomas and hate to see them die. The first gens were the last of a special breed, so when they're gone, they're gone.

Ah, a friend gifted me these a couple years back. I only wear them for coaching (worked as a goalie coach for many years) so they’ve stayed pretty nice.

I get the sentiment on the truck. I’m hoping it only has to see a winter or two of daily duty, I’d like to buy a used Model 3 to dd in a few years when they come down in price

Went with the Rustoleum "farm equipment" paint, ordered a 6 pack from HD. Pressure washed the undercarriage Friday and applied 2 coats yesterday. Coverage was great, adhesion was great, didn't run easily or anything. Good experience, ready for undercoating
