For the scientists doing legitimate research on fusion, yes.

For those claiming to have achieved cold fusion, and trying to sell false info, it's a scam.

nobody's been able to get anywhere with cold fusion

interesting thing about string theory is that the LHC hasn't found any evidence of supersymmetry, so it's slowly losing favor

Sadly no. But I will get to meet Edward Tufte in April and Feynman's Van and trailer will be on display at work in front of the Feynman computing center.

If you're in Illinois and you've met & worked with these intellectual juggernauts, I'm assuming your line of work has to do with the Fermilab?

I've worked at Fermilab for 29 years. Done many different jobs but currently part of my work involves video recording lectures, schools and workshops. There are a few thousand titles that are available on line. The current academic lecture series is focused on neutrinos.

That's the point of developing a theory.

A hypothesis is simply an educated guess.
A theory is supported by peer review, and some observation and experimentation, but it can not be called "fact" until opposing theories have been disproven.

In the case of the future of the universe, we have not had the technology to make measurements of the expansion rate long enough to provide data to confirm or disprove any of the existing contradictory theories.
There is SOME evidence that shows that the rate of expansion is slowing, but with less than 200 years of data on an event that is going to span 20 billion years, we are still within the margin of error.

200 years from now, we might be able to disprove the "expand at an increasing rate" and maybe even "expand at a constant rate" theories.
2000 years from now, we might be able to disprove three of the four theories.

Doesn't it suck to be in the top 10% of intelligence in the gene pool and still find that you are the dumbest guy in the room?

I've made it a practice to surround myself with people "smarter" than me so that I can learn from them to move forward in my career and personal enrichment... but there's been a few times I've jumped in over my head and felt like Forrest Gump.... like when I encounter someone who is able to quantify something that I presented to him 10 minutes earlier as a half-baked idea.
