I’m sure spoiled on the SpaceX live feed cams. I kept waiting for the split screen to happen during the key events. But looked like a great launch & booster return!
It was so nice of them to hold the launch until my lunch break! :D

I had to cut out and get my butt back to work before the capsule came back. I’ll have to check it out later.

Yeah, as much as BO has been hyped up by other members in the past, I would have thought New Shepherd would have come down smack in the middle like the F9's do.

Nah, but they’re the ones with constant activity, so when there’s activity, there’s news. And to be fair, they’re doing a damn good job, about the only news coming from the other contenders is because of bureaucratic crap or excuses for more delays.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the other guys and when the activity is there I’m —>

You must of missed the space cannons discussion. Seriously, it's not all SpaceX all the time. They've just been doing a lot that warrants attention lately.

Science related, did anyone notice Ford is the first company to add large scale accessible electrical power from a hybrid? You can order the Ford F150 with a 7.2 kW access point. That's right, in a winter storm you could literally use your F150 outside to power an average sized home. That's badass and I hope the hybrid trucks Toyota is supposed to drop ASAP have the same feature. Even the base model hybrid F150 gets a 2 kW access point.

NASA TV to Air Hot Fire Test of Rocket Core Stage for Artemis Moon Missions

    https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/...f-rocket-core-stage-for-artemis-moon-missions

NASA is targeting a two-hour test window that opens at 5 p.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 16, for the hot fire test of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket core stage at the agency’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Live coverage will begin at 4:20 p.m. on NASA Television and the agency’s website, followed by a post-test briefing approximately two hours after the test concludes.

Media may submit questions during the post-test briefing by emailing hq-heo-pao@mail.nasa.gov.

The hot fire is the eighth and final test of the Green Run series to ensure the core stage of the SLS rocket is ready to launch Artemis missions to the Moon, beginning with Artemis I. The core stage includes the liquid hydrogen tank and liquid oxygen tank, four RS-25 engines, and the computers, electronics, and avionics that serve as the “brains” of the rocket. During the test, engineers will power up all the core stage systems, load more than 700,000 gallons of cryogenic, or supercold, propellant into the tanks, and fire all four engines at the same time to simulate the stage’s operation during launch, generating 1.6 million pounds of thrust.

The first in a series of increasingly complex missions, Artemis I will test the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft as an integrated system ahead of crewed flights to the Moon. Under the Artemis program, NASA is working to land the first woman and the next man on the Moon in 2024.

What sets bluShift apart from its competitors?

    From their website:

bluShift is developing a unique line of rockets powered by bio-derived fuels to launch tiny satellites into space.

News like this doesn’t necessarily help BO build cred:
MethaneSat will launch on a Falcon 9 rocket. The Environmental Defense Fund said Thursday is that its Earth observing MethaneSat will launch on a Falcon 9 rocket in October, 2022. This innovative mission, which will augment climate science data, will aid decisionmakers as they grapple with addressing climate change.

Jeff buys a rocket launch ... The 350kg satellite will fly as a rideshare on an unspecified Falcon launch. One interesting note is that the satellite and its launch will largely be paid for by a $100 million grant from the Bezos Earth Fund. So yeah, Jeff Bezos is buying a launch on a SpaceX rocket. And it's for a good cause. (submitted by Ken the Bin)
