    Best of all, in a heavy downpour with no wind they still turn.

    There was a kid at the state science fair a few years ago who modified an electric golf cart with two of those (only 12" high) and a single solar panel. She made a self-charging ranch vehicle that recharged itself out in the field. It was pretty cool.

    The problem is that someone makes a little joke/comment bordering the rules, and then somehow, someway, someone inevitably takes that as a challenge to see how stupid they can be. And man do they exceed expectations every single time...
